Tangential to Mayo, there's apparently strong rumor at USC that Patrick Patterson will announce at the McDonald's game on Wednesday night that he's going to join Mayo at USC.
We'll see up until now it was thought he was down to Duke, UNC and UK, but a couple of USC fans who generally seem to have good recruiting info swear he is the kid Tim Floyd was talking about when he said on PTI that Mayo had already got one recruit(Davon Jefferson who'd already verballed to SC months before Mayo got involved), and might get another one or two before it was all done.
in the NYT article Mayo apparently asked Floyd how many open scholarships he had, Floyd said 3, and Mayo said don't worry about it I got it covered. He has 1 scholarship right now but if Young leaves, he'll have a 2nd.
