They've had 2 winning seasons since reinstatement. 2002, 2007. 1 playoff game in 2002 and they lost to Tommy Maddox and the Stealers. Take a guess who their OC was that year.Yeah only took 18 years to be 7-8-1

Game tape and fame can impact young players a ton. I think the Browns could be in the playoff hunt next year if they progress, but Mayfield isn't going to evolve a ton. He is not going to become taller or more athletic. He isn't going to develop a stronger arm. His progress will be determined by his ability to become as disciplined of a player as Brees and Russ Willson who are/were both more athletic.. I don;t know that he has that in him. That’s cool we shall see. So a big comeback & throwing the ball all over the field against a tough Ravens D doesn’t count? Lol
I think what’s makes them contenders is that Stealers are at the end with no apparent QBOTF, the Bugles are the Bungles & the Ravens are hoping on LJ becoming a better passer. The Bolts & Pats are at the end with Rivers & the Goat as well. The AFC is fast changing & will look so much different very very shortly.
Mayfield is a freaking stud & only going to get better. Brownies are loaded & on the verge, and a very attractive gig for a new HC. If they somehow land Lincoln Riley, watch out Chop lol
You know what he has that makes him great? Doubters who doubt his ability & talent, arm strength, size, a chip on his shoulder & huge desire to be great!!! He’s got the “it” factor that many don’t.Game tape and fame can impact young players a ton. Russ was and is more athletic and much more disciplined. "It factor" is Tim Tebow garbage. If Mayfield can evolve into a disciplined grinder, he can elevate the team. If not, he is an average QB.You know what he has that makes him great? Doubters who doubt his ability & talent, arm strength, size, a chip on his shoulder & huge desire to be great!!! I still remember many here saying the same things about Russell Wilson lol
Making definitive conclusions on rookie QBs after one season is a great way to look like a donkey in the future. The NFL adjusts...quickly. He has a very successful season despite organizational turmoil. He is going to have to progress in order to get better, and there are only so many ways he is going to be able to improve. His knock in the draft was high floor, low ceiling. It still applies.Mayfield is the real deal...
I disagree, I think Mayfield has a great career:Making definitive conclusions on rookie QBs after one season is a great way to look like a donkey in the future. The NFL adjusts...quickly.
