Sucks that, even if he does well after this, he'll be benched when Warner's ready.

Good job Josh...Hopefully this will carry over to Carolina game...

When was the last time this team won a game without Josh as QB?

Nah, not if he keeps playing well. This is NOT like the 90 yd game against the Giants.

Good job by Josh. Nice second half particularly. Didn't think he had it in him, but I was wrong.

Hope he can keep it rollin'.

Dude...let's please wait and see how he does against a real Def, the Panthers will be a good test. If Josh lights 'em up, THEN we'll have us a good ole fashoined QB controversy

Next week we will play a real team, and I hope Josh does just as well. We do catch Carolina at the right time. They play Monday night and will have a short week.

No we won't. Green will replace Josh when Warner is ready. Period.

I hope this kickstarts Josh's confidence. The niners are terrible defensively, and Carolina is not. If he lights up the Panthers then I will be firmly behind him.

Terrible first quarter tonight and it looked like same ol Josh, but something definitely clicked and he was very good for the remaining 3 quarters. Big game ball and  from me.

TEMPE, Ariz. – Emmitt who?

Marcel Shipp, the Arizona starter since Emmitt Smith broke his left shoulder blade a month ago, carried 29 times for 141 yards in the Cardinals' 17-14 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Shipp became the first Cardinal in 11 years to have consecutive 100-yard rushing games. The bruising fourth-year pro from Massachusetts, who was not drafted, gained 165 yards last week in Arizona's 16-13 overtime victory over San Francisco.

Smith, the NFL's career rushing leader who was assured the starter's job when he signed with Arizona, should be back in a couple of weeks, and it will present coach Dave McGinnis with a tough decision.

Jeff Blake completed 18 of 28 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions.

Jon Kitna was 21-for-38 for 218 yards and one touchdown for Cincinnati. He was intercepted twice.

The Bengals (3-5) led 14-10 at the half, but Arizona dominated with its ball-control style in the second half.

The Cardinals (3-5) took the second-half kickoff and went 80 yards in 13 plays, using 6:48. Arizona converted three third downs on the drive, including Blake's 7-yard touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin.

It was a matchup of two of the NFL's biggest losers in recent history. The Bengals had shed that image, to some extent, by winning two in a row and three of four.

But in nearly empty Sun Devil Stadium – paid attendance was 23,531 – Cincinnati couldn't slow Shipp and wasn't able to move the ball consistently. Arizona punter Scott Player repeatedly pinned the Bengals deep in their territory.

Corey Dillon, bothered by a groin pull – he sat out last week's game after being involved in a car accident – started for the Bengals but didn't play after the second quarter.

Still, after Tim Duncan's 34-yard field goal bounced off the right upright with 12:31 to play, the Bengals had three possessions to try to regain the lead.

But the last two began at their 7-yard line, and they never made it into Arizona territory.

Dexter Jackson's interception stopped the next-to-last possession. On their final try, Kitna's fourth-down pass to Peter Warrick was short of a first down.

The Bengals had two earlier possessions start on their 2 and 4.

The first time the Cardinals had the ball, a defensive holding call kept a drive alive. Blake threw 1 yard to Freddie Jones for the score.

Shipp's fumble, the Cardinals' 20th turnover of the season, but their only one of the game, was recovered by Cincinnati's Tony Williams at the Arizona 40 moments later. The Bengals drove to the Arizona 4, where Renaldo Hill intercepted Kitna's pass in the end zone and returned it to midfield.

However, the play was nullified by a roughing-the-passer call against Ray Thompson, and Rudi Johnson scored on a 2-yard run to tie it.

On the Bengals' next possession, Kitna threw 41 yards to Chad Johnson to the Arizona 14. The Cardinals challenged that Johnson didn't have both feet inbounds, but the play stood. Kitna threw 15 yards to Warrick to put Cincinnati up 14-7.

Duncan's 41-yard field goal cut the lead to 14-10 at the half.

The last Arizona player to have consecutive 100-yard rushing games was Johnny Johnson in 1992.

For one game he looked good.

There's a reason he did and that's the 9ers secondary but the kid is a seriously seriously naive guy if he thinks Warner or DG are pulling for him.

Warner is about to get seriously jealous and that's good, I hope it kick starts his game because frankly his heart looks like it's back in St. Louis.

Seeing Josh talk to Warner and go golly geee, I thought about it and I thought if it was you, you'd light it up if you could and so that's what I did had me almost rolling on the floor.

Warner couldn't run away fast enough, it was hilarious. Josh is so stupid he thinks Warner really is pulling for him.

The kid needs a long long talk. First someone needs to tell him how it really is in the NFL and how to spot the OPEN MAN.

And secondly and just as important he needs to know, not everyone is a nice guy, not your coach, not your QB teamate, zip.

The only friends you need to make are with your Oline and your WR's that's it.

If a player is doing well, leave him in. Same goes for Wakefield. You can tell Warner isn't a huge fan of whats going on, but I'm sure he'll grin and bear it as long as the Cards keep winning.

Don't get me wrong but I recall a few times the WR's dropping balls... Fitz dropping one in the endzone... It did bounce of his hands... But you have to say though once he finally settled down and remembered how to play he was able to find the open shot even when he is falling down...

Exactly what makes you think Warner and McCown have some sort of dislike or rivalry?

Neither have ever done or said anything to indicate that. It actually seems like McCown respects Warner...

Warner gave McCown advice.

I am sure McCown, who has spent several months on the team with Warner, has a lot firmer grip on his relationship with Warner than chuckleheads making assumptions on a fan message board.

We can't have musical chairs at any position and be successful. If Josh is getting it done leave him in the game and get some continuity.

All I know is that McCown is 8-9 as a starter. One more win and he'll be at .500.
