No Way

Josh sucks. Ask Russ. He continually missed all his open receivers. He stumbled all over the filed. He had NO FOOTBALL PRESENCE ( well on one play), he could a should a, would have been intercepted at least half his passes. And when he fumbled he got smashed, he didn't just drop the ball.
I'm hysterical that evryone isn't ecstatic about this win and the way Josh came in, with no one believing inhim, became a true leader. He never went to the side line blaming or bitching. Anyone notice how Warner couldn't stand when Josh was expalinig how he'd been seeing something all night and finally went for it and it worked. Warner is starting to look alot mopre about me,me,me and not team. Go Josh, get us one more win beore they bench you again and all this football braintrust on this board nails you to the cross.
This guy looked like he really belonged tonight.
Great game Josh, and thanks for the win.

I didn't see that at all from Warner.

I saw two QBs discussing what was going on during the game. I saw Josh looking at Warner as a mentor and Kurt obliging him.

Dude you're so wrong it's funny. ESPN repeatedly showed us Warner talking to JOsh, settling him down, pointing out what the safety was doing (hint those were the plays where guys were wide open and Josh didn't see them because he didn't see the safety, that's why Warner was explaining it to him).

All night we see warner smiling, laughing, exhilarated that Josh was putting up points. And now you're saying he's a me player?

Show one example where Warner appeared to be doing anything but HELPING Josh?

That sort of comment by dvl, and Russ, is why I don't touch these QB/RB debates with ten foot pole. People take it WAY too personal, get upset, and start pulling nonsense out of their rear.

Was that when a grinning Warner congratulated Josh after BOTH TD throws?

I guess people with bias will see what they want to see.

Right after they showed the footage of he and McCown talking, they showed Warner standing on the sideline looking bored. I think that's what they're talking about.

He really looked bothered... One has to wonder how much Josh must remind Kurt of Brenda.

I mean, they do have the same haircut :D

That one time that McCown was explaining how the ball sailed when he thre it out of bounds, Warner had his arms crossed over his chest, didn't hardly make eye contact and even turned away from McCown at one point. I was a big supporter of the Warner signing. I'm not passing judgement, just stating what I think I noticed. I'm not in Warner's head, but there SEEMED to be physical cues....

Warner isn't stupid he knew McCown was miked and that explains a ton.

The times he didn't know he was getting any air time are the times people are talking about.

It was good Kurt when he was obviously on tv and bored Kurt when he thought no one was looking, that's how I saw it at least.

So he has to smile like a beauty pageant contestant or he's a ME player?

Seriously, DVL implied that Warner wasn't helping Josh when it was plainly obvious he was. The first discussion he was explaining to him how the safety was coming racing up at 100MPH, that safety, was starting his first game at Safety in the NFL, he played CB all through camp and preseason. Warner was telling Josh he is reacting to your first move every time, if you look him off, the whole middle of the field is open. he said if you look there's NOTHING there, he was telling Josh to do precisely what he did the rest of the night. The postgame just now Nolan commented on how his FS was out of position repeatedly, that's exactly what we did all night, look away and get the FS to move. JOsh did it well, but he didn't see it until Warner showed it to him on the sideline.

Well frankly I agree with Theismann there, that was a BS excuse Josh had the whole pregame to warm up the fact that the ball sails should not have surprised him. I think Warner was telling him you made a bad throw, move on, don't blame the altitude we all make bad throws, move on.

I guess I just hate Josh because to me I saw Warner take a rattled kid and completely turn the game around for him by pointing out how bad the 49er FS was playing.

I agree that it was a dumb excuse, but I am just commenting on the physical cues that Warner was "apparently" displaying. Who knows what was really going through his mind....

PS - As a cheesy metalhead, it is imperative that I point out that this post will go down in BB history as post #666 for me....

:notworthy :bday:  :band:

And most importantly....

Now why would you hate him for that?

He at least listened and what does that say about our coaching staff that they weren't the ones that pointed that out?

At least he apparently got it after he was told.

To me the single most frustrating thing about watching Cardinal QB's over the years is the utter lack of help they get. It's like no one translates stuff to them.

Josh may be a slow learner but isn't that a coaching staffs job to fix that?

I mean shouldn't you point out stuff to the guy in ways he understands and hound the heck out of him when he dosen't get it until he does?

Too many times it's like, well it's freakin obvious what he should do and I'd say to you the kids not that smart. Some athletes aren't that smart and if they are good enough athletes then you take the time to make sure they finally get it.

The hate comment was sarcasm. I'm just saying DVL implied that Warner was not interested in helping Josh because hes a me person. Go back and watch that conversation on the sideline and listen to what Warner is telling him about the safety. The key to the whole game was contained in that conversation, get the safety to move and the whole field is open. There was a sequence in the first quarter where the safety overrann plays and JOsh didn't see people open, then he led Boldin right into said safety(drop by Boldin). Somewhere around then is when warner shows him the photos and explains what the hell is going on.

To me, the difference in this game is Warner DOES care about teh team and pointed out something that as you say apparently the coaches didn't see.
