That wasn't Warner. Kurt was back in Phoenix rehabbing his injury. The Cards hired Jason Patric to go to Mexico and stand on the sideline.

Wow, wasn't he good in Murder One?

is evry spin everyone is trying to put on this, but don't like the answers they get. I'vee never dissed Green, don't like some of his decisions, but never dissed him. AND, I think his walking away is more of a " I still got a game to coach kid" than anything else.
AND, again, it's not just MCCown, but whoever is out there playing, we should be supporting. Ala Wakefield, Tate, Green, etc.
WE won. plain and simple, with the kid noone wanted to pick. If he's "seeing things, that others aren't, I think they should lend an ear. NO?
So far, there hasn't been any criticism of Green, unless I missed something.
There will be, if McCown keeps win ing and he puts Warner back in. That I'm sure of.
dvl,
Check my posts. I'm "Mr. Koolaid, get behind the team". I think with our line playing as it is, McCown is better back there. And yes, you have missed something as far as people criticizing Green. Some, like conrad, are stating their point and then moving on and supporting the team which is totally cool. Others are trolling.

No great quotes from Green yet, today.
He''lL be liie alot of people on this board. Dismissive of the importance of what just happened.
I'll take a "giddy" sand lot player type, that just wants to play and win, over someone who's too stuck on what's wrong and not fixing it, anyday.
Keep walking away Green, but you can't hide!

Green has told us repeatedly he doesn't believe in players losing their job because of an injury, so unless Josh throws for 300+ every game, odds are Green WILL go back to Warner when he's healthy.

It was great to get a win but I don't think Green is going to change his mind at QB because McCown lights up a secondary that spent the 2nd half with Shawntae Spencer and Willie Middlebrooks at CB. When Middlebrooks got hurt Nolan said he had 3 choices, Keith Lewis a backup SS, move a LB to DB, or plan #3 was to try Jason McAddley or Rasheed Marshall at DB. If you check the current depth chart on NFL.com they're actually listing McAddley as the backup LCB right now! Middlebrooks just kept playing but he's got a groin injury that severely limited him.

It looked to me Warner was more than happy to mentor Josh.

Green on the other hand was not. After McCown scored his first TD they showed his giggeling and laughing telling Green what happened but Green was walking away from him and never really acknowledged him.

I noticed the same thing about Green. I thought McCown's "Thank you, God" comment was great.

It will be interesting to see if McCown can keep up the momentum, and if he does and wins again, it will be interesting to see if he gets benched when Warner is healthy.

Right now I'm just happy we're back in the west race.

Warner vs. Josh...

Warner was happy for Josh's success. That was clear.

Warner is also human, he was envious of it and smart enought to know that what happens when your back-up get a chance and shines. Those feelings and thoughts were real easy to see too, if you have eyes.

Think about a guy named Bulger and how he got his first opportunity.

Josh was elated and jumping all around Warner, Green, and Bidwill; he even snatched the ball when the game ended and RAN it over to Mike. Not a bad move, if just a little obvious.

One great game against a bad team, Josh. Sorry, but I have to see a lot more before I move you from my back-up category.

Ah it's much ado about nothing we are all stewing about a guy that is going to promptly get killed by Carolina thus making the decision easy and then Kurt is going to play and stumble around and look awful, claim his groin is fine and get killed some more.

Meanwhile at the end of the season everyone down to the ball boy will realize we need another QB.

Right. That's why Brad Johnson went back in when healthy after Cunningham lit it up, eh?

Didn't say what Green says and what he does are the same thing, but he said that several times last year you don't lose your job to injury.

If josh plays well enough to keep Warner on the bench we're all better off for it right?

I guess

where I'm coming from is not to jump on Russ, though it came out that way. I just thought it was too early, as he admitted to start burying McCown.
Now, I agree with the"let's enjoy the win" but come back down to earth line of reasoning. Show us again Josh.
Time for me to pull out of my Cardinal defensive mode. We got a win, first and foremost, let's get another.

Ahhh... Someone adds some sanity to this debate.

Is everything
Warner was probably stewing on the sidelines knowing that he would have torched SF for probably at least 4 TD's. Denny knows it - we all know it.
