It is a little better than the Suns deal but I don't think TMac would tell the Clippers that he would resign with them. Especially knowing that the alternative would be to go to Phoenix to play with Amare, Johnson or #7 and a ton of capspace.

Afterall we are still talking about the Clippers here.

Clips vs. Pacers vs. Rockets vs. Suns

I agree, if it comes down to who McGrady would prefer to resign with he would choose the Suns. The Suns track record for improving a team is much better than the Clippers and with the new ownership on board in Phoenix, comparing them to Donald Sterling is a no brainer. Their offer is good but I would suspect that Sterlings intent is only to fill seats not to win a championship.

I don't know why the Pacers would want to breakup their team, they were more competitive against the Pistons than the Lakers. They could add Dampier and improve their front line to matchup better with Detroit.

Van Gundy and T-Mac do not seem to be a good match. If Houstons axes Van Gundy and get Tomjanovich in the fold before the Lakers do, than I can see T-Mac in Houston. And Francis and Mobley do not complement each other and I think that is why Houston wants to get rid of both of them.

I do think it will come down to the 7th pick or JJ to make the deal work. I would prefer to keep JJ but the Suns could then pick Iguodala with the lottery pick. If this is the case then signing Nash and resigning McDyess may make some sense as well to add some experience.

Nash
Iguodala
T-Mac
Amare
McDyess

The Suns never seem to draft UofA talent but in this case it may ease the pain of losing JJ.

I hope we can sell the Magic on the idea of having Gordon and Okafor together is a greater benefit than demanding JJ.

I agree 100%. If Iggy is there at #7 I would be willing to offer Marion and Johnson for TMac.
Iggy might be a better fit with TMac because he has more upside than JJ defensively I would think.

Heck what about Marion and Johnson for TMac and drafting Gordon? Sign Bruce Bowen and Dampier as FA.

Dampier
Amare
TMac
Bowen
Gordon

Draft day deal

This deal may not take place until the draft is at #7 or if the Suns make a guarantee that Gordon will be sent to Orlando. If the Suns have to move up or make an additional deal to get him, they will have to do so.

I oppose trading Lampe, even if it is a deal killer. Realistically, if he is that valuable to the Magic he should be that valuable to the Suns. Do you trade apotential star big man for a perimeter player, even a top one? If he isn't a likely star, then why would the Magic want him?

oh man, now lampe's a potential star big man? i don't see star in his potential. i see potential big man. effective. and yeah, i trade him in a heartbeat w/ marion and probably the 7 for tmac. another star, hell yeah. that gives us a star big and a star perimeter. perfect.
