His best days are behind him. Andy Reid knew what he was doing when he traded him for picks. Not sure why the Redskins bothered to sign him to a contract extension but I guess they can drop him without any financial hit. At this point he would be a high risk signing. Hope the Cards go another direction.

McNabb > Carson Palmer. Both are not good.

I would agree that McNabb is indeed greater than Palmer........... IMO the biggest issue with DMac is that he is in a new scheme,....NFL offenses take time to learn, the more complicated they are the longer they take... I would not mind seeing Dmac here, as long as they got him early and got him working on the playbook right away....like, March.

But is Grossman>McNabb?

I can't imagine he's fallen that far, that fast.

He would have been equally bad in our offense too(but I doubt he would have been benched). He is all about the scheme, Andy Reid designed an offense that suited McNabb and it was the only one he ran his entire career. The Redskins OTH expected McNabb to run their offense and I have no doubt that Whisenhunt would have done the same here...with smilar results.

McNabb may be > than Palmer but not in the offense we currently run.

On Twitter, Darren Urban mentioned more than once that McNabb won't be in AZ.

Shanahan is an idiot, but Snyder is an even bigger fool. And, no, I still don't want McNabb here.

PFT is reporting that he's even been demoted to 3rd string. Does this news change any of the "we should have gotten McNabb" crowd's views? I know, I know, he'd still be an improvement over DA and Hall. Still, it looks like all the QB's on the free agent market have officially tanked this season.

Leinart
Anderson
McNabb
Bulger

Where are they now?

We were pretty much screwed when Warner hung up the cleats.

I guess I will take the minority viewpoint and say I sure as hell still want to bring in McNabb on a make good 2 year deal and have him fight it out with Skelton next offseason, barring Skelton throwing for 4 TDs each of the next three games.

McNabb isnt the guy that led the Eagles to 4 NFC championships but hes not as bad as Washington has made him look either. Football isn't played in a vacum. Between Shanahans nepotism leading to weird play calling, no Oline, no real run game, bad pass catchers at best, and a porous defense hes not exactly in a place where its easy to shine. What is Rex Grossman going to come and take all that crap and make it a contender? Likely not and even if he did, it wouldn't be anything more then temporary.

This is actually playing into the Cards hands perfectly. McNabbs rep has been destroyed meaning A) we can get him on the cheap b) he will go to the most favorable place for him personally and c) he will have alot to prove when he comes here.

And with better weapons, weather, and IMO offensive coaching i think he could be a 20TD 10INT guy here and def the best QB in this division (as presently constituted)

And no matter what Skelton does, that would make Larry happy bringing in an established vet, leader, and player to help keep Fitzy in the fold.

And if Skelton is that good then he beats him out. Nuff Said.

Also this would allow us to go BPA with our Top 7 pick rather then QB.

To me its a no brainer.

I like how you think. I just wonder how much he really has left in the tank.

I would not mind if McNabb was here next year. So many are saying he is washed up but when Kurt Warner came to the Cardinals, people were saying he was at the end of his career and look what happened. It can not hurt to bring him in.

Would Fitzgerald be happy if McNabb was the qb for the Cards?

I live in DC and folks are notat all happy with Shanaham. It's hilarious too, because before the season (most) everyone was wishfully thinking that McNabb was a steal and predicting a 10 win season. Shanahan lost this team early and his kid Kyle (the OC) apparently assumes no responsibility for their offensive ineptitude. In this sad season for the Cardinals at least Iget condolences from the local sideshow. That said, IMO, we don't want McNabb, he's toast and Andy RFeid knew it last year.

Leinart and McNaab got sooo shafted this year, just treated like garbage. I didn't see it coming, but my view from the sofa aint all that great. I don't know whats going on, how coaches want to start DA and Grossman over Leinart and McNaab is beyond me, but then again, I haven't coached teams to super bowls... so i dunno.

McNaab played like poop this year, and Leinart hasn't done anything in Houston.
