PFT is reporting that he's even been demoted to 3rd string. Does this news change any of the "we should have gotten McNabb" crowd's views? I know, I know, he'd still be an improvement over DA and Hall. Still, it looks like all the QB's on the free agent market have officially tanked this season.

Leinart
Anderson
McNabb
Bulger

Where are they now?

We were pretty much screwed when Warner hung up the cleats.

How did Bulger tank? He was signed to back up Flacco, who seems to be doing alright for himself.

Yes, I still believe McNabb with our team= 9 to 10 wins this season; easy.

Look at our offense compared to Washnigton's We easily kill them in WR core, are = or better in the RB department, our Oline is not nearly as putrid as theirs, and our kicker is not a joke.

I don't think McNabb and Whisenhunt would mesh well. JMO.

I agree with everything Arizona's Finest posted but agree with this even more.

McNabb's leadership style is a bit loosy goosey for Whiz's tastes IMWO.

I don't realistically see it happening, but we could do worse than McNabb as a bridge to the future (draft pick or Skelton).

Urban speaks of this here: http://blog.azcardinals.com/2010/12/17/friday-before-the-panthers-2/
For the Cards to get him, it means two teams will have given up on McNabb in one year. If that isn’t a red flag, I’m not sure what is.
I'm not sure that's entirely fair.

In Philly, his departure was a business decision. They had what they thought was their QBoF on the roster in second-round draft pick Kolb, and a what they thought was a good insurance policy in Vick (as it turns out these roles are flipped, but the result is the same). They were in a good spot--maybe the best in the league--at the QB position. Why spend the huge money on an aging McNabb? I think this situation speaks far less to McNabb's ability to play and more about the business of pro football.

For as much as Shannahan is heralded as a QB guru, he's just not. His player evaluation ability just isn't on par with his coaching and playcalling. While McNabb hasn't played great this year, I think he still has enough left to be a starter in the NFL. So, while it does appear Shannahan is "giving up" on McNabb in Washington, I don't think that's the same as a good evaluator of talent like Parcells giving up on him.

Anyways, like I said, I don't think it's likely, but I also don't think it would be a bad move to get McNabb in here for a year or two.

I dont know

in a Qb needy league, for Washington-- who has lived the 2010 Cardinal qb experience for the last five years or so-- to give up on him says something

While all indications are the Cardinals agree with this assessment (and I also agree he doesn't seem like a Whisenhunt type QB) he is likely the best vet on the market, and so we NEVER have to go through this year again, I draft a guy, bring in McNabb, and keep Skelton.

You can never have enough QB's. If your counting on McNabb to be a Pro Bowler - you are in trouble. But if you bring in a pissed off McNabb and get something out of him (including a likely division title IMO - he aint playing the Eagles and Giants 4 times here in the NFC West guys) then it was worth it.

Ideally Skelton makes this a moot point and has just plain beats him out in TC. But you can't gamble on that by any stretch. Not with the year we just had.

Indications are we dont' want him anyway but I would sure as hell :bhiich:

Grossman seems to be doing OK in the Redskin offense (surprisingly)...22/36 283 yds 4 TDs 1 INT

No way in hell we want to touch Chilly.

I know. It was kind of tongue in cheek, sarcasm but I didn't post it right.

I think McNabb has some left in the tank but he would probably do better in Minnesota and will end up there more than likely.

I wouldn't be totally pissed if he came here, but I hope the Cards don't go this direction.
