He isn't bad, and should make a good relief player. He should also be able to teach the youngsters quite a bit.

That's great, we got swapmeet Louie. O-line is important to every other NFL team. When we suck this year, better get them "Grimm Future" signs rockin at the toaster.

is this guy starter quality?

No, but he has played in 66 games and started 8 in his career. D'Anthony Batiste has played in 22 and started 4 in his career. "Starter quality" is a relative term given our situation, isn't it?

I wonder if he is related to the Seahawks starting Guard Paul McQuistan?

Glad it's not Paul. IIRC he's the guy who as a rookie for the Raiders got benched and nearly got cut because word leaked out during a preseason game he asked the guy he was blocking to "take it easy on us this is embarassing". This was when the Raiders had the worst OL in the NFL and were giving up sacks left and right in preseason.

It made the local papers and McQuistan was demoted. he did stick around several years though with the Raiders.

Oh I'm sure it was but his teammates were apparently pissed, saw it as weakness.

I don't recall for sure but I think Cable was the OL coach then, a notorious tough guy, and he demoted him although of course nobody ever confirmed if that was why?

Isn't Cable the OL coach in Seattle now? Must not have bugged him too much since Paul is his starting guard heading into week 1.
