I've added some details to your stats, because they are relevant. Also, the tackle stats do not show missed tackles or bad pass coverage, the latter being a weakness of Minter's. They do not show how much progress the runner makes after first contact with Minter, as K9 likes to joke about Minter being dragged 3 yards before the runner goes down.

It is difficult to compare if Mosley or Hightower would be improvements, but we will see Sio Moore side by side with Minter and that should give us a good look at comparing him to another actual linebacker in the same defense rather than comparing him to Bucannon or the likes of Fua, G Martin or any other UDFA that have had as a backup the last two years.

Moore isn't really that good either if he was we would of known by now. You can just go back to Dansby and Washington to see what really dynamic explosive linebackers can do in this defense

Luke Kuechly type player

Im a big Reuben Foster fan, but pump the breaks. Kuechly is ultra rare. Already hall of fame caliber. Hes arguably a top 5 defensive player in the NFL.

Coincidentally enough, I think the best comparison for Reuben Foster is......Daryl Washington. Which, on field, is a huge plus.

My mock draft site of choice has us picking one of these three: Adoree Jackson, of USC. He's a CB. Deshaun Watson, of Clemson. Or Jamal Adams, safety from LSU. Which of these are you down for?

I like Reuben Foster and all of our three, CB Jackson, QB Watson and S Adams...but if Steve Keim can take care of those positions in FA---I would love to have RB/WR/PR Christian McCaffrey be added to form one of the most potent and explosive all-purpose skill RB/receiver tandems in the NFL. McCaffrey is, without a doubt, who the Patriots would pick if they were as high as the Cardinals in the draft.

Out of these 3? Watson.

While Adoree is a dynamic player, he's still kind of raw as a CB. His technique needs work. Plus, skill position USC players scare me.

Don't need a Safety in Jamal.

Someone mocked us Jabril Peppers, which makes no sense to me. Give me Kizer, Watson, or top flight CB or move down IMO.

Foster is a big time talent. His speed and agility put him a notch above a Cunningham. He can cover better than Minter, but he's no Kuechly. That doesn't mean I dont like him in round 1 but I now think he'll be gone before the Cards pick. His biggest drawbacks are biting on the play action fake and not really making good defensive calls when a last second adjustment is needed. Still he's a force in the middle that I think will actually play better in the NFL than he has in college.

Don't really remember saying apple wouldn't go in the first round but who knows maybe.

CJ Mosley and Hightower are always brought up when talking about Alabama linebackers. They are solid NFL Players just like Minter neither would be a huge upgrade or even an upgrade at all really.

So far 2016

Kevin Minter
Tackles 62 Sacks 3.5

Donta Hightower
Tackles 61 Sacks 2.5

CJ Mosley
Tackles 59 Sacks 0

There is perception and then there is reality. I don't think Foster even compares to Zach Cunningham from Vandy
It wasn't you who said that Apple, I remember who it was now.

The way injuries has haunted this FB team, I'm wondering whether whether a higher priority should be placed on durability.

Injury-wise, how do Foster, L Collins & others pan out?

I can't see Keim using the 1st round pick on Watson. He's far from the prototypical QB that Arians covets, but I could see them taking Trubisky out of NC or Kizer, who fits more of Arians mold...except the chances of either of them falling to us is slim to none. I could see Keim taking Mike Williams, or Corey Davis to solidify the WR group which has turned into a major weakness.
