Ok its official the boy just ran a 4.35 at the combine. Fastest of the dbs I think. Deion said that he is an ideal slot corner. Sanders explained that little shifty guys like Wilson do the best there.

Wow! He might not be there for us in the second round.

Josh Wilson

Has rare speed and easy acceleration. Is faster than quick. Plays smart. Nice back pedal and transition. Good man cover skills as he can lock down receivers. Good zone awareness. Breaks and closes on the ball. Big hitter. Good timing on his corner blitz and comes hard. Solid Character. Already graduated. Has NFL bloodlines

Lacks great size and has very thin legs. Shows tightness in his hips and rises in his pedal. Does not show great ball skills. He will be in position then just not make the play. Not a sure wrap up tackler. Does not make alot of plays

At this stage of his developement he could bring most value as a kickoff return man. As a corner he is short in stature, has some tightness in his hips and does not play the ball well in the air. Has improves steadily over the last two years. Still has a ways to go but he has alot of traits teams are seeking at the position. Should improve with coaching and experience. Not going to get any taller but has upside.

We had a lengthy post on Wilson last week or two weeks ago. Everything I saw from him in the three Maryland games I watched this year belies all the negatives in this analysis...he was always around the ball, showed an excellent burst...and made several drive stopping tackles.

He's got the speed and athleticism...but lack ideal height...but, oh that speed...you gotta like him as, at least, a nickel back.

At 5'9 size matters. The WR now a days are big tough tall guys with speed. Look at our top three. If his drafted late second day IMO.

The height issue will be his downfall. He may be drafted as late as the third day if you get my drift. Nah, people will think of Hester and take him on the second day.
