Mar. 21—The boys hockey talent in southeastern Minnesota was well-balanced this season, much like the area's best teams — Big Nine Conference runner-up Century/John Marshall and Section 1, Class 1A runner-up Rochester Lourdes.
Both of those teams are well-represented on the 2025 Post Bulletin All-Area Boys Hockey Team:

2024-25 stats: 18-6-0, 2.08 GAA, .920 save pct., 5 shutouts.
Noteworthy: A two-time First Team All-Area goalie, Lappi led southeastern Minnesota and tied for seventh in the state with five shutouts. ... Coach Jeff Copler says: "Before the season Braedon told the coaches his goal for his senior year was to win a medal at the state tournament. He was given a target of a 4.0 GAA (goals-against average) to achieve his goal. In the first one-third of the season his GAA was 5.5, during the next one-third it dropped to 5, and by the end of the regular season it was 4.75. During the three games at the state tournament he posted a 3.6 GAA. In the third-place game, Braedon held the Maple Grove Crimson to 3 goals during the Raiders 4-3 victory. It was quite the turnaround of an early season matchup with the Crimson where the Raiders allowed 13 goals."
