Holy Crap.
Kansas hits the 3 with 2 seconds left to go to OT.

Those missed FT's may be the difference.
Now Self can take Boone Pickens' $10 million and move to Oklahoma St.
Congrats to Kansas great comeback. For Memphis god is that the biggest choke in Championship game history? Webber's TO ranks up there I guess but they were losing at the time, Memphis was up 9 with 2 minutes to go and up 7 with a minute and lost.
I don't think it was a choke, Memphis' FT shooting simply went back to normal. You can only buck the odds for so long. Congrats to KU, they exorcised some pretty big demons this weekend.
I guess, but analysts had been saying for months that Memphis' FT shooting was going to hurt them come Tounament time. It shouldn't come as a surprise that their biggest flaw as a team ultimately let them down. As far as the fouling thing goes, every coach differs on that strategy and I really can't say if one is better than the other. Memphis did defend on the last play pretty well. When your best players go 1 for 5 with a chance to ice the game, that's a bit more than just percentages evening out IMO. Plus, even with the missed FTs, someone for Memphis should've had their head in the game enough to foul before Kansas could shoot a 3. A foul, just past half court, more than likely would've won the game for them too. Kansas would've had to try an intentional miss.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!!!
Firstly, for every "choke" Memphis had, Kansas had to execute in order for it to even be an issue. Regardless, there was an extra 5 mins of game for Memphis to pull ahead again and win, they ended up losing by 7 and it didn't even seem that close.
Secondly, Self could leave, but I don't think he will. He's got security at one of the top 3 programs in history. He was going to get a bump from winning the NC and now OSUs counter-offer is going to add to that a bit, but I doubt the $6M bonus/$4M per is a real figure.
