i hate to bring sumpin' up that was on a closed thread, but, well, here goes nada:

rivercard, you said it wasn't beef's message but the delivery that gets to people. i gotta disagree with you. i think very few of you can make the statement that i am rude or unreasonable in my delivery. i go out of my way to make certain that i don't insult or attack. yet, as a professed darksider, i am constantly under attack for my views. personal attacks. "assclown" attacks. does my delivery offend or is it the message that is truly spawning these attacks? think about it please . . .

(none of what i said above is meant to alleviate the scorn cheese casts about. i don't always enjoy his scathing retorts, but i'm sure if you look back at his posts you'll note that they are always retorts. he doesn't start trouble, he just tends to escalate it. i can't keep him in check, though i often wish i could. i realize that he has good arguments that are often lost in his delivery. it's a shame.)

That's just my opinion. For me it's the delivery maybe not for others.

I would say that delivery does have an impact. I do agree with you completely that you and Cheese do a great job of not attacking any posters on this board, even after several shots are fired at you first.

The issue is how Cheese fires his shots at RG. He is relentless. I know I take offense to these unending comments at times but I think you will agree that I don't come back at either of you personally. Just as some of the darksiders get incredibly frustrated and angry with the Cards many koolaiders get just as frustrated on the negative (not necessarily wrong) posts some of the darksiders post. (hope that made sense).

I for actually like the debates and it does help keep me grounded, koolaide in large doses can be harmful. It's just that at times the never ending venting of negativity will bring out the worst in people.

Last year I think I was considered a darksider. I truly understand the darksiders point of view. My issue has been and always will be Billy Bidwill. Talk about an idiot who got lucky and inherited a football team and now countless fans have to suffer year in and year out because he is a clueless MF. Sure he's a nice man and does nice things in the community and blah friggin blah. I don't want Mother Terresa running this team anymore than I want Billy running it.

I remember grating on several peoples nerves because I couldn't and wouldn't stop bashing Bidwill. The koolaiders get coming to his defense and I would get so infuriated that I just wouldn't shut up. Sounds a great deal like Cheese of the past couple of days.

See, it's easy to flip over to the darkside, if even for only a minute. The difference is at least RG gives me a ray of hope that things will finally be different.

Hope my ramblings made sense and helped a little.

His delivery is fine, it's just his windup that tips off the batters that bothers me.

actually, i greatly appreciated this post. and though i don't always agree with the kool-aiders, i'm grateful the alternative insight they offer and their passion too. what most of you don't understand is that i've got a personality disorder that makes me seek out balance in all things. when i see overwhelming optimism it makes me counter with overwhelming negativity. y'all would think i'm kool-aid worthy if you saw me countering some of the negativity thrown my way in regards to the cards sometimes.

This is like a family isn't. We can say whatever we want about each other and the team (family), but if an outsider starts in on us we close ranks quickly and beat the snot outa them.

I gotta say that I totally agree with River on this one.

I think that if Cheesy toned down on the hysterics, he would be much better received.

Hell, 80% of the time I actually agree with a lot of what he (and Ouchie) says.

The shame is that it's an approach to discussion that often keeps a person on the "bread line"...

Sheesh, I go to drunk golf league thursday night, and Beef gets banned. What the...

For one week, we should have the kool aiders, and darksiders change positions. There is no dialog without both points of view for cryin out loud.

Beef posts a lot of stuff many Cardinal fans agree with, but don't say out loud, and if his delivery bothers some people, ignore it.

What I see happen, is Beef posts an opinion that is bold, and the mob piles on. If Beef tries to defend his opinion, they'll even pull up old posts to discredit him.

I think Beef got banned on purpose, for bragging rights. To heck with being famous...he going for infamous.

Agreed. As Meyagi says" Must have balance" Plus the "darksiders" are huge Cardinals fans. They get excited about good news just like the rest of us.

Treat them with the respect you would like to be treated us. And if they call you crazy, or stupid. COME ON. They are empty comments. Said as if you where talk at a bar. Heck when I talk football everything is stupid and f$ck comes out after every other word.

Peace:p

With all respect to the women on this board. But only girls do what I have put in bold. Just think if you had to defend EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. Goodness. I know I would be in deep poo-poo.

Peace

Does cheese get out of hand sometimes with the way that he provides his opinions? Yes. He's been too shrill even for me lately.

Do some of those that don't agree with him provoke him by name calling? Yes. You'll almost never see those with a dissenting view (the most obvious examples are cheese, myself, Ouchie, and occaisionally Krang) be the first to call names or make things personal.

Do "darksiders" (whatever that means) sometimes get left "on the island" with their opinions? Yes. I know that I've felt all alone on some issues on this board for a long time because of an unpopular opinion (Chidi being the most recent example), and "darksiders" kind of feel that it's too much to deal with more than one fire at a time. Because it sometimes seems like there are four opposing posts for every one that supports my decision, I try to "catch up" over the din by going more extreme with my tone, if not generalizations, summing up, etc.

It would be nice if there wasn't so much "shouting down" on this board, and more careful football thought. No more piling on, please.

I think it's like what's going to happen in Star Wars, Episode III. All these Jedis (aka, Kool-aiders :D ) seem to think a balance should be struck, and that balance means getting rid of the Darths (aka, Dark Siders :stick: ). What they fail to realize is the Jedis outnumber the Darths greatly...and that means to strike a balance, a lot of Jedis will DIE!!!

But, in the end, we will have 'parity' :fans: and we shall all drink merrily together! (Guinness, of course!)

I agree. I know how it feels after the character assasination leveled at me the other day for posting an opinion.

I posted something that I won't mention rather innocently, came back later and saw that numerous posters had personally attacked me and a few even carried the pettiness over to other threads. This forum shouldn't allow that type of crap. Keep that stuff on the bird droppings forum.

My 2 cents.

I sometimes feel that some of the posters here get way too intense on things that are completely out of our control, and start stepping on others toes when it comes to opinions. But that's it right there, opinions. Everybody has one. Cardinal colored or otherwise. One thing that I do know is that most here are Cardinal fans. Optimistic, undecided, or hard nosed against management. Is it hard to read some of the comments, yes. But if they start to get personal, that's where it has to stop. This si a forum, meant for opinions, not personal attacks.

Sorry to hear that someone "cut the cheese".

Northern, I feel that you're a ridiculous, stupid, pimply-faced idiotic scumbag for saying that.

Now, I really didn't mean it, but basically you said it was okay for people to personally insult Krang and he should simply accept it with meekness. Now THAT, my friend, deserves a

Oh I see. So if I give an unpopular opinion, people are allowed to personally attack me?
