I met John Lott and his family last night at a restaurant in south chandler. I had my boys go up to him as he was leaving and say "get your mind right" He laughed out loud. His wife was also very nice. They spoke with me for about 5 minutes. I asked him about Beanie and he just smiled. Said he was a real hard worker. I told him the guys on this board were very happy he resigned. He said he would be here for 3 more years. His wife said the Redskins tried real hard to get him. I lift a lot and he was a big guy. Much bigger then on TV.

Also a great tidbit about the Redskins trying to lure him away. What does this tell us?

I know I know.

The Cards aren't cheap as they went toe to toe with Snyder and came away the winners.

RG isn't an idiot that was snailing along and not trying to sign Lott. There was a bidding war and it took some extra time.

That Lott and family must like Az more then DC (who wouldn't) and of course Lott likes working with Whis ect.

It's in my DNA not to bother "celebrities" when I see them out and about. But for John Lott I would absolutely make an exception. Love him! I'd love to shake his hand and express my appreciation for what he's done for the team.

Glad you had such a nice experience!

My sentiments also. Glad to see WC feels differently than myself and then is kind enough to put it on this board. Thanks WC.

Wow.

I am amazed that he was "nice". Just because the position he is in, as a wieght trainer, could make for a bit of a prick. Not to say that is a bad thing, because someone in that position has to have the mind set of "never good enough".

So, color me amazed that he was personable and willing to interact. Very cool story, and it is a good example of how the Cardinals try to create a healthy atmosphere around the facility.

Again, very cool, and surprisingly good to hear as well.

The fact that Shanahan wanted him in DC is a huge confirmation of what everyone has already said about the guy. Honestly I doubt he gets a lot of recognition when he is out, other than from the very hardcore few. Cool deal that he was so great about it.

I'm sure they offered him bank in DC. Good that he stayed in the desert.

Ill be honest, I dont know where many of the players/coaches live, but it seems like a lot of them live in South Chandler.

Anyway, that's great! Id love to pick his brain about topics such as physical training and mental toughness.

I told him the guys on this board were very happy he resigned.

I need an assist from Linderbee or BIM here - I think what you meant was you were happy he "re-signed", but I'm not sure.

Too funny, can have totally opposite meanings.

Great story.

re-sign means to sign again; resign means to leave a job. I use the resign all the time out of laziness.

re-signed = extended contract

resigned = quit
