Mets reach 1-year deal with RHP Escobar (AP)

A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that injury-plagued pitcher Kelvim Escobar and the New York Mets have reached a preliminary agreement on a $1.25 million, one-year-contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because no announcement had been made. The deal could be announced by Sunday.
