The arena seems rather quiet for a close game in the 4th quarter.

Wow no kicked ball. Should be every time even if accidental or on purpose.

Now here's where the Suns are really missing a go-to scorer. Three consecutive scoreless trips down the floor with a chance to tie while the Heat extend lead from 2 to 7. Beasley with two misses.

Close game. Brown is a ball stopper. Beasley can't hit jumpshots even though he regulates himself as a jump shooter

The final score doesn't tell how close the game was imo

Allen looks like he's done in the nba

He's no longer a star player, but he's been an impact bench player. He's shooting over 50% both FG and 3pt and he forces defenses to spread the court.

Definitely. Not sure what game the other guy was watching. I saw him multiple time pump fake the three dribble in and hit that nice little 12 footer bank shot. And of course he can still drill the 3 at a high percentage, 51 freakin' percent, I'm sure that leads the league.

So yeah, what are you talking about? That's pretty awesome for a 16-year veteran of the league. Hell, that's awesome for a young buck. I would love for Shannon the cannon to be hitting at those clips.

I've always wondered about this. What is the rule, exactly? The only thing that's consistent, in all of my years of watching the NBA, is that if the ball hits someone's lower leg accidentally, I will have no idea whether it will be called a kick or not. I'm surprised by the call pretty much every single time, no matter which way it goes.

The defender has to attempt to move their leg to intercept the ball for it to be a kicking violation. As I watched the play live it looked like the defender had their leg planted and the ball was thrown at it so it was a good no call imo, though it is a play that gets incorrectly often.

If that's really the rule, then at least half of the kicking violations I see called are wrong. Which may well be possible, but I wonder why the players don't complain.

I double checked to make sure and direct quote from rule book below. The refs seem to give the offensive player the benefit of the doubt on most calls, I guess it's just something everyone accepts.

Section V-Strike the Ball
a. A player shall not kick the ball or strike it with the fist.
b. Kicking the ball or striking it with any part of the leg is a violation when it is an intentional act. The ball accidentally striking the foot, the leg or fist is not a violation.

Edit- I also don't think I've ever seen a player called for hitting the ball with a closed fist. I know I've seen Nash and Ginobili do that an multiple occasions.

It seems to me that a common play is for the offensive player, when in trouble, to bounce the ball firmly off of a defender's lower leg. If the defender moves his leg at all in anticipation of the impact, even instinctively to try to avoid the ball, it is called a kick most of the time. It's not really news to me that the officials interpret the rules according to their whimsical intuition of what makes for a more "exciting" game, but for some reason this particular call has always bothered me more than most.

Gentry said in his post game that he's finally grew the brain to make changes to the starting lineup. I can't wait to see what they are. I'm gonna guess that Dudley is no longer starter though :)

I love that a lot of his Tweeter followers are giving him hell for throwing this season :D Keep em coming guys!
