Not really, although it is not totally far fetched. We've had conversations about the problems Marion has defending really tall small forwards, but I agree they liked what the saw of Zarko.

What if he had not been injured? Zarko only played a few games after recovering from his hernia operation before he was mugged. His big game was against the notoriously weak defense of the Mavs. We don't know how good he would have been on defense and how well he might have rebounded if he stayed healthy. In any case, he was so tenative after his injury that he was no longer useful.

I hope he recovers, gets stronger, and regains his confidence. The Suns need a lot more from him if they are going to be competative.

B.F., Zarko was starting to show a nice offensive game. IIRC, the Colangelos were intending to get him 20-25 mpg last year, many of them in the same lineup with Marion and Amare ("tall ball").



I love the image of the Suns brass sitting around the draft table in 2003 saying, "Okay, we're going to lose Dan Langhi. How do we replace him?"

:lol:

Everybody knows there's no replacing "the" Langhi!
