The Cardinals have issued a statement in response to the complaint filed by Brittany Neuheisel.

“Earlier this week, the Cardinals received an email from a California-based plaintiff’s lawyer.

In it, he threatened to file a lawsuit unless the team agreed to his demand for a substantial amount of money by 5:00PM the next day.

“The team refused and the lawyer has now filed the Complaint.

“The Cardinals were surprised by and strongly deny the allegations made in this lawsuit and intend to defend the case on its merits in the appropriate forum.

I'm not a big fan of Bidwill but this sure seems to be a money grab. It is as sign of our times and the media loves this stuff.

Oh, it’s all valid. It’s just what can be proven. I question why I give them money every year. If my decision was based strictly on character of ownership, I would have quit years ago.
It's like me with the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are my team and I support them, but Bob Nutting isn't getting a single red cent of mine until he stops lying to the fans and spending the money the club generates rather than pocketing most of it. Great ball park but I haven't been there in years.

It doesn't matter that it's a money grab. Put yourself into their shoes. I'd want to milk the bastard for every buck I could get.

I bet they both are fully aware of each other’s intentions and are cool with it.

The danger is if Bill actually catches feelings for her and does something irrational. Love can make you do irrational things because you want something to be true even when all the evidence points to the opposite.

Good luck with that in court.

In my leadership role I take multiple courses every year about this sort of stuff and I would be up a creek with half what is accused here.
Correct. Doesn’t matter that her title says “personal” if she’s hired by the organization and not privately by Michael.

Standard operating procedure for this type of suit.

The Cardinals were valued at $4.3 billion in September, so probably a tad bit more now. Not many out there can afford that. Plus, if Mark Davis won't sell for $7 billion, I'm not sure Michael would without being forced.

1. There’d be several dozen bidders without a doubt. Not like one guy writes a check for something like this. Sports team are both financed and syndicated via partnership agreements nowadays.

2. MB is just an incompetent jackass in almost every facet. Nobody really respects him in the community since he’s entirely unaccomplished so he overcompensates on Hardy Dr where he actually has power. Just a clown who with his siblings need to sell 51% of the team, still be the “owners” of the Cardinals to satisfy some egos, and cash some checks and live their lives.

3. Despite the above this lawsuit likely frivolous.

Intriguing nugget from the lawsuit:

the fact that Mike is in conflict with his siblings.

99% chance the source of that conflict is money, and specifically, not enough of it is flowing to them. Wouldnt be a shock if the siblings are demanding some form of liquidity from the team.

For Nicole, Patrick or Bill Jr -- what benefit do they get from being an owner compared to, lets say 25% each of $5-7 billion.

That should be a big source of contention. Michael gets the glory and prestige, gets to tool around the country on the family business' dime, and there is probably not a lot of free cash back to the other 3

lets say they get distributed $1mm a year each. For you and I, that would be plenty

but not when you could get a one time payment = to 1,000 times that

They are glorified hillbillies that live in Paradise Valley where they have had run-ins with the police there.

Can't wait till they sell and they eventually will.

Enjoy Paul Skanes while you have him. In a few years he'll sign with the Dodger or Yankees for a billion dollars.
