This movie was average. That's about the best that could be said for it. Predictable and slow--and I think slow can be great. Clooney just isn't that good of an actor, and like Costner, needs a very specific role to thrive. He was adequate, and that's being kind. Swinton did a good job, but no more so than any supporting actor in any movie, and certainly nowhere NEAR Oscar-worthy. My father and I kept saying, 'she's gotta do more...'cause this ain't enough'. Wilkinson, IMO, did a great job, and I can fully understand his nomination.

I thought I had chimed in on this one. Outstanding film. Maybe I just liked it so much because it wasn't pointless like some of the other Oscar level movies.

I just saw it and loved it, one of the better films I've seen in awhile. Reminded me of Michael Mann's The Insider, one of my favorite movies I've ever seen, for some inexplicable reason.

The Insider is great. I think I like it more than MC.
