Actually this isn't so crazy. Floyd is a Jekyll/Hyde sort of player. He'll star in one game and disappear in the next. He has the tools that can dominate but does he have the motivation? I'm not sure more money motivates him more.

In some peoples eyes certain players can walk on water,feed the children,stop global warming and then promote world peace on weekdays while certain other players are injury filled busts or wasted draft picks no matter their situations.Some players wouldn`t be liked by some fans if that player scored the game-winning TD in the SuperBowl.

He has had 1 year where he had 1000 yds. I personally haven't seen him be dominate enough to say he can be a number 1 wr. I understandhe has some injury issues and has played though it because he's a tough dude, But so far IMO he is a good number 2 WR which isn't bad but I do have doubts he can take the next step up to be considered a true number 1.

To get to the next level Michael Floyd needs to (A) stop being hampered by injuries; (B) start showing greater toughness and grit on catches and RACs over the middle.

Everything else, imo, he has covered...plus a very good chemistry with Carson Palmer.

I see a guy on team loaded with WRs. I seen a guy disappear at times because Carson seemed hell bent getting the ball to John Brown. I personally would say Floyd is a better WR to have if I had to make a choice between him and John Brown. I have seen John Brown not disappear but be rather obvious dropping balls. Again, we have been blessed as Cardinal fans to see some really good WRs play for us, recently from Boldin to Fitz. I like Floyd and think he is a number 1, we all have our different criteria... it is hard to judge when a team is loaded at the position

I do agree on alot of what you said I disagree calling out John Brown there is a difference IMO 3rd round 1st round Floyd needs to step up JMO

I think John Brown would be worth more than a third if he was in the draft now and I think Floyd would still go in the first. Brown is good and Floyd is better. I think we find another WR when Fitz is no longer with the Cards because Jaron Brown and JJ Nelson look great for their depth use... and I like what Shipley showed too

Floyd is a great no. 2 WR right now. He plays outside and goes deep most of the time, often drawing double coverage. I absolutely think he can morph into a legit prime WR, especially when Fitz retires in the next few years. The way BA's offense is set up, there is no room for a real no. 1 WR anyway. Fitz was leading the group but if Brown and Floyd would have stayed healthy, all three would have surpassed 1000 yards by a significant margin without a clearcut front runner.

I think if you could get a 1st or high 2nd plus a 4th for Michael Floyd right now, you'd be thrilled about it. And I say this as someone who loves Michael Floyd just the way he is. He's not a top-shelf NFL wide receiver, but he's a legitimate #1 starter and would be the best WR on a number of teams (specifically, DET, MIN, SEA, SF, STL, NO, PHI, CLE, BAL, TEN, and NE).

Marvin Jones signed a $40M deal with $13M in guaranteed money this offseason with 0 seasons over one thousand yards on his resume. Floyd could be looking at a $50M-$60M deal next year.

I think it is a load of crap and speculation because Floyd really has been aces for us. This is a guy who had quote reported problems with alcohol while in college and has had absolutely none which we are aware of in his professional career and nobody pats him on the back but people go bonkers over Honey Badger and his character change from the expected red flags of his draft day. Floyd is humble and a class act in every interview I have seen. Floyd is not selfish and will block... he is a number one wide receiver and fits what Arians is looking for

As the end of Floyds rookie deal coincides with the end of Fitz's contract, seems like the easy thing to do would be to pay Floyd.

While we have other good receivers, none bring the physicality of Floyd. If we lose Fitz, we need to keep Floyd.

Maybe, but I think that John Brown's contract is up the following season. I don't know if we want to invest $14M a season in WRs.
