8 catches, 166 yards and the first receiving TD for a Cardinal since November 4th. Monster day. Worthy of its own thread. Especially after an inane thread early in the season declaring him a bust already.

He has very good hands, when given the opportunity to make plays he has done it. He even blocks well for a WR. Between Fitz, Roberts and Floyd we have a very solid receiving corp.

Completely agree. People have just been impatient with him, but the truth is that WRs quite often take a little while to start really producing. Add to that we have had a terrible offensive line during stretches of this season and QB play has been terrible over the last 7 games going into this one.

I said he would be the bust of the 1st round. Still not sold, but he had a great game.

Good for you rook. Next time though..... Hold on to the rock.

Early is our #1 backup for both Fitz and Floyd. Can't let him go unless you can replace him.

He had himself a beastmode game today while the whiners rushed Hoyer and blanketed Fitz. Hoyer was smart enough to get it to Floyd, Floyd made some big plays. I hope it continues, but I still wish we had went Russel Wilson, and I hope we go Geno Smith this year if we get a new coach. If Whiz stays...who cares?

He had a great game but his inability to grasp the offense was a huge issue all year. The big thing he needs to improve on next season is learning the offense, where to lineup, what routes to run, sight adjustments etc.

He absolutely has the talent to be a very good NFL WR. I still wouldn't have picked him but that's water under the bridge now. What they need to do now is get his butt in the film room so he learns his craft, hopefully his relationship with Fitz will make that happen.

He does not have great hands. I don't know where that is coming from. He is too much of a body catcher. I think he will improve, but lets not make stuff up. He is at best a #2 on a team that doesn't have many offensive weapons.

Seriously. Good game but I don't know how he got to this level being a body catcher. Every coach should be on his ass at every level.

Ugh draft redo take the OG

I thought he had potential. He was a slow starter, but he has improved a lot. Were good at wr.

I would like to add another good te to pair with Housler...

Let's remember that Crabtree's transition into the NFL was slower than expected. And hope that Floyd's day today is a springboard...

That is nonsense, the guy has made numerous catches this year where it was text book all hands more than body catches. Your making stuff up with the body catching. There just seems to be a ton of hate out for this guy and the only flaw is adjusting to the pro offense, and he will

You can't be serious. Hate Floyd? How did you come to that lunacy? He does not have great hands. Get over it. He is an ok wr. Lets not make **** up.

I Think Byrd will be that guy next year. He's had 1 yr to learn the offense and learn the pro's. I like this dude!

I like Laron Byrd too. Hope he gets a largermrole next year.

Floyd's development in learning the offense was slow, but he blocked well all year and now he seems to know the playbook better. Look at the leap Steve Breaston made from year 1 to year 2. Floyd should explode next season if he puts in the work, and we get good QB play.

he's one of those who makes great catches look easy, and then flubs easy catches because as you said he lets the ball get into his body too often.

Surprised at the reaction to Floyd's big game. I'm excited about this kid. If he continues to improve as he did throughout the year, he's going to be a big weapon for us. I look forward to him taking another big step next year.

Good game for him, he needed this in my opinion.

Agree. Good springboard for 2013. More adequate QB play would have given him much better stats this season

+1

Especially on holding onto the rock. He could have made a catch or two he dropped as well.

Not sold on Floyd AT ALL.

Good game, yet the only one I really can think back on where he was a factor, and even then his game yesterday had some big stink marks in it.

1st round draft pick. The expectations for this guy are much higher then what he has been producing.

That big game allowed Floyd to finish the season #3 among 1st and 2nd round rookie WRs.

Blackmon was #1 with 64 catches 865 yards and 5 TDs. Wright was #2 with 64 catches 626 yards and 4 TDs and Floyd next at 45-562-2. Alshon Jeffery was next with 24-367-3.

The rest of the guys were all about the same production except of course for Jenkins who was a no show for 2012.

Which shows why everyone thought it was a terrible draft class for top WRs. I expect the same from 1st and 2nd round QBs in 2013. Always better to draft the best of a good class early than best of a bad one.

45-562-2 is damn good considering he started the season #4 on the depth chart and had Skelton & Lindley throwing to him after Week 6.

Competent play calling and better production from the QB position guarantees Floyd will put up bigger numbers.

Excited for his sophomore season.
