Michael Vick named starter for Eagles

Michael Vick-QB- Eagles Sep. 21 - 5:44 pm et

The Eagles announced that Michael Vick will take over as the starting quarterback starting this week at Jacksonville.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen and CSN Philly's Derrick Gunn both have sources confirming that the decision is permanent and has nothing to do with Kevin Kolb's health. Perhaps Andy Reid came to the conclusion after watching game film showing that Vick was undeniably a superior option going forward. The Jaguars have perhaps the league's most burnable secondary, leaving Vick as an elite QB1 option for a second straight week.

Good for him and the Eagles. Nice to see a coach actually reward good play on the field.

Vick is damn good. I am happy I picked him up in Fantasy last week. I now have Schaub, Vick, and McNabb...plenty of trade bait.

Huh? Reid went on record saying Kolb would still be their starting QB just the other day. Complete 180 ...

I"m confused I thought I just heard ESPN say it's because of Kolb's health did they change that since then?

Some coaches are willing to admit when they are wrong and do what it in best interest of the team. Kudos to Andy Reid for making the right decision, putting his team in the best situation to win.

Could have had Vick for nothing..Now look at him.

We are failing at QB..Or at least most think so...And now Vick may make Philly a better team than with McNabb. He is a human high light film and seems to be really humble now. With good coaching he may become beyond scary.

look, I'm all for eschewing character TO A POINT. I don't want this piece of garbage on my team, no matter how well he plays.

Thank you. He and Leonard Little are the guys i'd rather lose without than win with. I couldn't sit in the stands and cheer for that filth.

Do I think Vick would make us the instant favorite to win the west, YES. Do I think we would ever put the d-bag on our team, NO.

You could have posted this in one of the other three "My name is Card_Campos and I told you so" threads.

Going to say the same thing. This QB craziness is getting out of control. C_C the Cards could also have Campbell, McNabb, Kyle Boler, Marc Bulger, David Carr, Rex Grossman, and Byron Leftwhich to name a few. Just thought I'd put it out there so tomorrow night when I log on I don't see "Could have had _______ ______, now look at him." or "The Cards could have traded for _____ _____." We all know what the QB situation is, we all know there were much better options out there, but this is the hand we are dealt with lets just leave it at that.

At least make one thread about it. It is impossible to debate when you are jumping between 10 different threads. It is just stupid.

While I many times don't agree with Campos, he posts, and brings up points, it is appreciated but it is all over the place, all over the board. There is no chance of interacting or making and valid points when it gets like this.

I mean ANYTHING, the slightest bit positive has been followed by a nasty aggressive post, in which an overblown, over dramatic retort is made that really has no logic or meaning to it.

It is like trying to have a conversation and someone is in the back the room screaming over everything.

I mean it with all sincerity, people need to just get a grip. I have flipped out before but seriously for 3 days straight with this crap ?

Well we have like 50 Why DA sucks threads. DO we not? Or how DA can improve or WHy he wont start in game 5. The point is...We had many options and they could have cost nothing to get. Yet this is who we have. For all the WHiz supporters...And I like him but...He got on his ship with DA as Captain. And we are all ship mates....And he took no life boats...Lets hope we dont sink. I would atleast wish they would tailor our offense to DA strengths.

Can you just list all the QB's we could have had in this thread instead of making a new thread everyday?

1 more thing...Why does it matter how many threads are made. I mean really. If I see a thread I want to read I click it...If I dont I dont click it. Pretty simple in all honesty. I mean turn on the news and you get the same drug out stories rehashed all the time. That is why they call it a remote control. You can always change the channel. It isnt like there are 5000 people on here and threads get deleted or lost.

Or who jumps into an old thread to see if anything was added? I dont.

If you actually read anything besides your own posts, then you would understand.

Because if you make 5 thread of basically the same thing then it is extremely hard to debated/communicate/interact on the subject.

Clicking on this thread, then to that one, saying the same thing on one thread and then the other. It is a pain in the arse, and after a while it gets abrasive and annoying.

Campos, you make great points, I could care less if I agree or think they are "crazy". They bring something to the board. Try keeping it to one thread, heck write an article.

Instead of 5 separate posts on we could have had McNabb, Vick, etc., etc. Just write one good one, and then defend the hell out of it. One thread will get more good attention and responses than 50 smalll ones on the same subject.

That would be my humble answer to your question.

Questions ?

See Mitch's post.

Define old thread?

You make one every 20 minutes. So you don't go back to the thread you made 20 minutes ago ?

Are you here to interact or just yell something and run away ?

I mean you are free to do as you please, but who doesn't go back to the thread they made to see what people think about it ?

......actually this is all starting to make sense now that you state the above.

I do..But football and our team change daily. Each week something usually trumps the bad news from the week before. That is all...I am on here daily and like to read the posts and the replys.

Gotcha. So am I. I just don't post too much anymore.

From week to week ? I understand, heck I would take bi-weekly.

Don't get me wrong, DO NOT stop posting. Just figure you would benefit from consolidation.

Oh, and you never can keep up with the changes of football. Just post and edit, and defend within the post. I have tried to stay up with the NFL, it is futile.

Keep at it, and don't mind the grumpy SOB's like myself. I was simply trying to clarify why some are crying to "one thread". :D
