With the conclusion of the Michigan State vs. New Mexico game, the South region of the NCAA Tournament now has its four teams, and thus, the Michigan basketball matchup against 1-seed Auburn has officially been set.
The two squads won their respective games on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16 and will now both head to Atlanta to battle things out for the right to play in the Elite Eight on Sunday. The Wolverines and Auburn Tigers are now officially set to play Friday evening with a 9:39 p.m. EDT tipoff with the game set to air on CBS.
Like in the Rounds of 64 and 32, Ian Eagle will be the play-by-play announcer with Grant Hill and Bill Raftery serving as analysts, and University of Michigan alumna Tracy Wolfson acting as the sideline reporter.
The winner of Michigan vs. Auburn will advance to the Elite Eight to play the winner of the 7:09 p.m. EDT game between Wolverine rival MSU and Ole Miss.
