Michigan Sports Writers Division 2 girls all-state basketball teams

In Division 2 Michigan girls high school basketball this season, it was all about Tecumseh.

With good reason of course.

The Indians had all the pieces to go all the way and they eventually did, earning a 27-1 record and Division 2 state championship victory over Grand Rapids West Catholic.

Now, Tecumseh is keeping the celebration going, as the Michigan Sports Writers release the Division 2 all-state basketball teams.

Tecumseh senior Alli Zajac has been named the Division 2 Player of the Year by a panel of Michigan sports writers, while head coach Kristy Zajac is the Coach of the Year and sophomore Addi Zajac has been named honorable mention.

Alli, an Eastern Michigan University signee, finished as a finalist for the Michigan Miss Basketball award and finished the regular season averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists as a 6-foot, 2-inch forward.
