I was listening to them this morning, with the subject of a landing place for Tony Romo. Mike Greenberg said, "If healthy, Romo is better than Carson Palmer. The problem is his health". Am I just being a Cardinal fan, when I say no way?

Maybe. I think he's just as good. The problem is he's not going to ever be healthy to be a regular starter ever again. 31/32 teams, at the very least, know this. He should retire.

Tony Romo is better than Carson Palmer because he plays for an East Coast team called the Cowboys. That is about all the argument I can see for that claim. Palmer and Romo are similar in my eyes, not one being better than the other.

He should. He already has a ton of interest from networks to become an analyst. Just retire already.

I like Romo but he can't stay healthy.

Also he wants to start. So there is no way he would play for the Cardinals this year with the potential of sitting behind Palmer all season. Ain't going to happen.

This is correct. If healthy, Romo is a better QB than Palmer. The issue is health, and is it why you can count on Palmer more than you can count on Romo.

As one person posted on this board awhile ago:

"If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle."

Injuries aside, he's more mobile than Carson and throws with good zip, but IMO, CP is more consistently accurate deep and deadlier when given enough time.

But Romo's injury history is part of the package, and when you compare the 2 total packages, I give the edge to Carson Palmer

I was listening to the same segment, since I have to wait an hour longer to catch Doug & Wolf... stupid DST.

I think both are similar, namely in both have more detractors than I think is fair.

Given Carson is four years into our program, vs Romo would be starting from scratch... Carson gives us a much better chance to win this season, so I'd call him the better QB for us because of it.

I think they are both of a similar age, and frankly, I still cringe every time Carson takes a hit, even though his last knee injury was non-contact, so I don't see any benefit of bringing in Romo.

Go Cards!!!

Those are my thoughts too!

Why would we take and old QB that's ether done or close to it that doesn't know our system over one that went 13 and 3 two seasons ago? If he was 27 I would get it.

Cards should only go young. Both of them are over-done. On their way out, hold the door and don't let it hit either of them in the rear. Palmer was fun for us while he lasted. We should all be talking and thinking "new era" by now. (Where is Matt Leinart when you need him?)

Not that it would happen but I would love to have Romo on the team with Palmer. If one goes down we would still have a good QB.

Yes Romo is clearly the better QB when healthy. The eye test and stats make that clear.

Doesn't matter though because he too brittle at this point and it takes even veteran quarterbacks half a season to learn a new system with different personnel. Remember Manning's first season with Denver? We thought the Cards might've dodged a bullet over the first half of that season...
