Bleacher Report's Matt Miller reports the Bucs are asking for a "high" third-round pick for backup QB Mike Glennon.

Interesting. The worm is dangled for the Cardinals 2nd round pick. :kevinkolb:

Glennon really hasn't had the chance to show that he is actually a very viable QB. Had a few stints and I thought he controlled the game well when he played

He's gone after this season, so it will interesting to see what they actually settle for near or at the draft.

Maybe before they re-signed Stanton. Now there is no chance.

With ARZ's reported interest in Dak Prescott, I don't see them trading for Glennon unless TB settles for a much lower pick.

I don't see how one translates to the other. We aren't gonna go after him because of Stanton, however, if you can trade for a guy you like before the draft you do it. The draft is a crapshoot. No guarantee the guy you like is going to be there when you want him, and no guarantee you can trade for him.

The point is ARZ looks to be targeting a QBOF for life after Palmer. It ain't Stanton and Barkley will be 3rd string until Stanton is gone. Dak Prescott is being targeted by ARZ according to sources (they are scheduling a private workout, you don't do that unless you are really interested). There is no telling when ARZ could look to take Prescott (people thought they reached for Golden in Round 2 last year), he could move up ARZ's draft board if his workout goes well enough. If they draft Prescott then why the need for Glennon, especially if he is going to cost you a high draft pick. I also don't see why ARZ would trade for Glennon when he is a FA at the end of the year and Carson is signed for 2 more years, remember Stanton is also signed for another 2 years. It would make sense for ARZ to just wait and try and sign Glennon next year if they want to cut Stanton and let Glennon back up Palmer for his last year so that he learns BA's system and takes over when Palmer's contract is up.

I heard on the radio yesterday that they turned down a 2nd for him. I was channel surfing so not sure what network etc. but they spoke with authority.

MJ was saying it---but he also was saying the Bucs would be smart to hold on to Glennon and trade him next year---only---MJ must have not known that Glennon is in the final year of his rookie contract this year.

MJ is a good entertainer---but his knowledge of players in the league (other than the marquis names) and even moreso his knowledge of players in the draft is very limited---which is why i love ASFN---we've got super knowledgeable fans here---fans who really do their homework. I get more good insight here than anywhere on the internet.

I do not understand the hype behind Glennon at all. He's a game manager at best, and not a true asset.

If he is neck and neck with another QB, I think he gets the advantage.

If Licht really turned down a 2nd for a guy backing up last year's #1 overall pick when they need help everywhere, he either doesn't like something about Winston or is an idiot.

Or he watched the Cardinal's get derailed when Carson Palmer went down in 2014.
