what he does in the locker room as coach is his business - the performance of the program is his responsibility along with the athletic department

if you don't feel he's doing a good job -rip him, he's the paid professional here

as long as the athletes are doing what they are supposed to be doing as student athletes then don't rip them - it's not necessary -especially in bush league way this chick went about it

I couldnt agree more. Excellent post.

You rarely will find a journalist who rips on the kid and not the program or coach. People can call it coddling, but the reality is these kids are here busting their arses as student-athletes. They arent professionals

Yep, busting their arses WITHOUT getting paid. People will cry that they get a free college education. So what? That's not even a drop in the bucket compared to what these schools make off of them.

I'm with you guys. As long as the college athletes are doing what the coaches are asking and keeping their noses clean they shouldn't catch too much heat. Save that for the coaches if the team isn't performing.

I thought what he did was awesome. Questioning a college players manhood is definitely a low blow. And, once it's out there, there is no way to take it back. People who follow that program will NEVER forget it. What Gundy did was about the only way it could really be corrected.

I'd let my kid play for him anytime.

That reporter chick was WAAAAAY out of line. Did he handle it in the best way possible? No. But I'm not going to fault the guy for his passion.

Sure there is....... GROW SOME BALLS and defend yourself. the article may have been harsh, but since he (or the coach) won't say which of the "facts" are incorrect, we can only assume it is valid.

why should an amateur athlete have to defend himself from some piece of trash article?

it's best for him to not get into it with the media -it's not what he's there to do

there is no reason the guy should be in a position where he needs to defend himself against personal attacks made to a wide distribution with little foundation

Bah...

What, the player is supposed to call a press conference? The coach had the platform, and the timing. (It was a stupid column to run on a game day at the very least.)

Well, it is a national story now. I'm sure he has plenty of opportunities to tell his story.

Forgotten in all this hysteria are the assistant coaches who gave Jenny her info.

Maybe the 40 year old man should talk to his staff.

Whoa, where did it ever say it was an assistant coach that gave her the info? I mean, I'm definitely not sure, but didn't she quote the mysterious 'sources'?

In Jenny's original rebuttal.
