People keep mentioning him as a coaching candidate. Did anybody else hear Warren Moon just completely trash him last night? They were asking Moon at the half about the game and why NE was so effective at throwing the ball and he said something like "well the Vikings are playing such a basic defense it's not that hard for a guy like Brady to exploit."

It was really interesting I assumed Moon was there to defend his ex team and it was out of nowhere. Really a strange thing, I don't know a thing about Tomlin but sure didn't seem like Moon is a fan? Vikings have a very good run defense , would appear that Tomlin is doing a nice job in his first year as DC but Moon just blindsided him last night.

Did it seem odd to anyone else that Moon would go into the Hall or just generally be celebrated as a Viking? When I think of Moon I think of the Oilers.

Season is far from over. Vikings have been a sleeper -- a team that nobody expected to be where they are now. Now, they are going to be exploited every week.

Minnesota beat Carolina in OT and Seattle. Of course, these aren't the same Carolina and Seattle teams of last year. Tomlin is getting freshman year props like Clancy Pendergast did two years ago. Let him go 16 games . . .

Mike Tomlin was the DB coach last year at Tampa Bay. This is his first year as coordinator. Throwing guys like Tomlin and Pendergast has HC candidates 6 games into their first time coordinator experience makes me worry. These are the kind of guys the Cards will hire as a head coach.

I was in Minneapolis last week and met with some of my old Viking friends. They are very high on Mike Tomlin and say he is one to watch as a future head coach. The players really like him.
I didn't think Moon was purposely blindsiding Tomlin just probably a little upset that Brady was blowing away the Vikes.

They also gave me a real hard time about Denny. They can't believe he still has a job. This was before the Packer game :bang:

I think they mentioned last night that he would be celebrated in Minnesota, Kansas City and Houston.

Tomlin is one the up-and-coming coaches in the league and has delivered (sans yesterday) despite not having much experience - both in the NFL and college.

Saints' OC Doug Marrone is another up-and-coming coach. He's only in his first year as a coordinator, too.
