-Possibly using this pick to get KT
-Save money not paying a first rounder

-All about getting enough to pay Amare and JJ

-Suns still have high hopes for Barbosa (going to concentrate heavily on developing him this summer)

-Suns might have to match JJ for the max (from an opposing team [70 mil over 5 years]).

-Kurt Thomas might start or back up

-Can the Suns succed as a more traditional team?

-Hunter REALLY wants to come back to the Suns
If its between 1.7 million from the Suns and 3 mil from another team, he will leave.

HUNTER can leave no way should they pay him more than 1.5 . That guy did not play two consecutive good games all season he can walk for all I care.

If the Suns use the salary space created by the pick to resign Hunter, that lessens the pain somewhat.

Bob Kemp was saying that if the Suns didnt make this trade (Q for KT) Hunter would be able to hold the Suns hostage.

The picks salary slot was 885K, so that is obviously going to be added to the offer for Hunter. 2.5M might be about what other teams may offer for his services.

This also tells me that they were probably targeting Petro.

Petro ended up going to Seattle, who will probably let Jerome James go FA. That will create a back up plan for the Suns, James did fit in well with the running game in Seattle and probably has somewhat better foot work than Hunter. If he has a decent jump shot he may be a better fit.

I like James but he has recieved too much press. Any time a big gets press he gets overvalued. See: Hunter, Steven.
James will get more than the MLE.

The team isn't going to find a better FA for less than $1 million - so the bench is worse off than last year...

Even if Finley, Payton, etc. are available (which is more of a risk than a Prospect at #21) - do we really want to Trade every young piece just to get players that have maybe 2-3 years left in them?

Francisco Garcia could of been a better option than JJack and is a whole lot younger (he has at least 14 years in him)...

If the so called $1 million is going to be USED on a FA, then how does that save money, as well?
