I thought is was a 2 school race between UA & MSU.

Still is.

247 is saying because Alkins is being recruited, it means JJ won't come to UofA, when JJ is being recruited as a SF and Alkins a SG. It's an ill informed opinion.

H……O……M…E…R, you're team should get every five star!!

Maybe, just maybe, God forbid, Lawrence, KS made an impression.

If I suffered from Homerism, why would I be saying that Alkins isn't coming to Arizona, or that I'll only be excited about Kobi Simmons when he actually signs his LOI? Both are 5* guys. One of whom is verbally committed and the other is being predicted to come to Arizona.

The dudes at 247 think Alkins is coming to Arizona, and because they have Alkins listed as a SG, think that'll deter JJ from Arizona, when Arizona wants him as a SF; and that's the position he wants to play. JJ himself (even after his KU OV), mentioned that UofA has the inside track because of his experience with Miller on the USA team.

Anything can change between now and April, but the majority in the know still think it's between UofA and MSU, with a trip to China as a potential option.

Who is this "majority in the know" that you lean on? Nobody ever really knows what's in the head of a 17-18 year old. Just look at Tarczewski. The "majority in the know" had him at KU until he wasn't. Same with Wiggins and UK (or FSU, but certainly not KU).

I'm saying you're a homer, because you seem to not want to process any information here that JJ might not be going to UofA. Hell, from what I hear it's now KU, UofA, and then MSU, but you think MSU is still in this.

So what makes you think KU has the upper hand?

the man himself says Arizona has the edge, his best friend (and MSU commit) Miles Bridges says it's Arizona or MSU, and insiders keep reiterating UofA v. MSU. Again, all of whom have mentioned this AFTER his OV to KU.

Your excitement comes from a couple of people's "crystal balls", many of whom have zero inside sources are are basing their predictions on speculation. Even Jerry Meyer, who is the head of basketball recruiting at 247 and has inside sources, still thinks Arizona.

Again, I'm not saying KU doesn't have a chance, but unless there's a drastic turn of events, I don't see KU leading for this recruit.

Oh I certainly don't think KU has any upper hand or inside track or anything of the sort. I've long ago lessened my energy in recruiting and focus more on the actual seasons now.

Somehow grown men investing so much energy in these teenagers whims became silly to me. My coach will get the players he needs to win even if it's a recruit who decommits from App St and drops 27 on the number 3 ranked team while uarding the soon to be NPOY.

You didn't answer my question on where this majority in the know comes from. I hope it's not interviews with UofA recruiting "analyst" and other teenagers. I remember when Zach Peters was sure KU was getting his old teammate Randle. Then he went with UK. He also lied to the KU recruiting "analysts" before his announcement.

I'm not saying I know better than you, I'm saying it's amusing that you profess such certainty when you don't really know anything yourself. And that's not just you, that's anyone who gets into this recruiting game, even the "experts"

I'm assuming that was the video of Josh Jackson going between his legs and dunking in a recent HS game DWKB?

It was supposed to be Biancardi talking about Jackson on ESPN.

Oh haven't seen that one, the between the legs dunk was getting lots of online buzz yesterday because he did it in a game.

Pulled a Vinsanity during a breakaway dunk. It was sick.

The video posted was an update that indicated that JJ loved his KU visit.

Not for nothing and maybe he loved his KU visit but that's common speak. I've never heard a recruit say "that was the worst visit I've ever been on....I'm not going there...it sucked".

I mean if he REALLY loved the visit, he would have committed before leaving.

I would pay good money to hear a recruit say that he hated his visit after he left.

He said it was UofA and KU for Jackson. Not MSU, which TJ has told me ALL the "insiders" in the know are saying.

He said there was no real smoke with JJ and KU.

I found it he said if there is no official visit to MSU, then they're out.

For the longest time insiders reported it was between UA and MSU, looks like KU has just recently made it a 3 team race. I think MSU is still in because 3 of his buddies are committed to MSU, one of which (Miles Bridges) thinks it comes down to UA and MSU. I'm sure he keeps his friends in the loop vs the media but who knows, 18 year old kids change their minds everyday.

I liken this to how UA got back in the Alkins recruitment recently and now UA is the favorite to land him. It's all speculation at this point.

Plus kids tell everyone different things. The class recently was Justise Winslow who apparently told Miller he was coming to UA. He told Steve Alford he was coming to UCLA, and he told Coach K he was coming to Duke. In fact Winslow actually publicly admitted to the LA Times that the night before he committed to Duke, he told his parents he was going to UCLA, and that neither Okafor or Jones knew he was picking duke until he committed he had told them both he was probably going to UCLA the day before.

Kids change their minds.

From what one UA fan I know told me last night, Alkins has told UA if Trier turns pro, he's going to UA, if Trier stays in college, he's not coming to UA.

Jackson and KU is interesting, he's a great player he's going to be a star wherever but the last 2 years Self has had first Oubre and Alexander and then this year 2 more mcD's kids that aren't starting. I don't blame Self at all he's playing the guys that are going to win for him, but you do wonder at some point will it harm his ability to recruit those high rated kids if he keeps not starting them. As long as they wind up drafted probably not but it is a unique situation at most schools kids don't find themselves coming off the bench. He's the rare coach that seems to be able to balance that out, Oubre got better all year and you see Bragg and Diallo starting to look like they're figuring it out now.

Jackson is on a whole other level from those 2 though he's a NPOY candidate as a freshman.

SF Terrance Ferguson decommits from Alabama and has Zona on his short list. Apparently, schools knew that he was going to renege after he didn't sign his LOI in November, so they recruited him as if he were freely available. Also, Zona is looking at a JJ/Alkins/Ferguson package. This is not likely to happen, but dreaming is free.

The original rumor before he decommitted was Baylor or Texas. Kansas is apparently involved now too and UA makes complete sense. He played for Miller on the US national team, and he plays for Advanced prep which is the bastard child of Prime Prep after that school shut down. Same coach, many of the same teachers and administrators, but no Deion Sanders this time. Not NCAA sanctioned yet, 4 of the players came right over from Prime Prep. Including Billy Preston who UA is all over for 2017. Trevon Duval is now there and UA is heavily recruiting him in 2017 too.

So there are obvious connections to Ferguson and Arizona.
