Nick Leckey looks good to me. He lines up in his stance way lower than anybody else. Lower = power

In the middle of practice they started sprinting, I guess nobody on the defence was hot enough.

Now practice is over and the big guys lined up for this. They were timing them on this run back and fro across the field. They did this at least 4 or 5 times maybe more. Each one timed.

Understand, it is 110, no shade, nobody took a rest during the entire practice, I know I watched. Then after all that they ran them again, everything is timed, everything.

We called them GASSERS when I coached... Great for that final touch in conditioning....

Dont really see the big deal here. I used to watch the team do gassers up in Flag during practice. They were times as well. Its an extremely common football drill that was used by the old regime as well?

Not like this, I watched the previous practices they are generally less intense than what you see in Flag. I was talking to one of the reporters (one you read a lot) and made the comment, "Man after this training camp is going to be brutal" he just nodded.

This went on for 15-20 mins

We never saw this at practice/mini camps, this was essentialy after practice was over and don't forget unlike Flag or later during the season, it was 110. They had been out in the sun all morning.

I'll give you another example. See the tent in the background ?

This is put up with misters (Read Jo's article on front page) so that players can get out of the heat, if they need to.

Last year, the regulars in the media, ie ASFN, Kent Darren and a couple of others would hang out on the very edge. Getting shade without interfering. The tent would be full of players between drills.

This year, the tent is empty, the only people there are reporters a couple of Cardinals staffers and Rod Graves (until he went to talk with Denny, which he normnally does for a long period during practice).

We never say a player come in the shade, in fact there was never a pause between drills.

BETTER TURN AROUND #4, MR. MCCOWN IS ABOUT TO LAY IT IN THERE ALONG SIDE YOUR HEAD.

Making a pass to the backup QB would be almost as dumb as throwing it to an o-lineman in your own endzone.

Forget hands, the guy would engulf the ball. Could make for a very good trick play :D

He actually passing to Fitz who is out of the shot.

The ball was nowhere near King, who was waiting for his turn.

Caution: someone could die in that heat

Was Green the HC when Korey Stringer passed out and died during practice several years ago? It was probably not 110 degrees in Minnesota, but of course there's that old adage about it not affecting you because it's a dry heat in the desert.

There is water everywhere during training, its the one thing it is ok stop for. The difference is there isn't the communial chatting going around the water cooler as there was last year.

There is a giant tent, which provides shade and misters, which work great in the dry heat. I can attest to that as I was the only person using them after being out in the sun watching the OL.

There are trainers all over the place and they watch carefully, its just that that want every bit of effort you have. That's how you have to train for any sport.

That's reassuring. Still they're going to appreciate training camp in the mountains of Flagstaff and Prescott. I pity the poor Patriots when they arrive for our home opener in September.
