But he is is a very very good tackler. He's a solid player. Not great. Not bad. If he's that bad why hasn't Keim upgraded the position more? He has signed veterans to start at every other position where they weren't confident With the starter or didn't have Young players behind to take over. Why didn't they sign someone last year? Why only a lost player like Butler this year?

Let Minter lose the job before calling him a bust.
Like when they signed Weatherspoon last year?

Dudes a 4th year player. No ones calling him a bust, but he's been a huge disappointment, and I don't expect we'll be hearing much more from him after March.

I think Minter has worked his way into the core and that he will re-sign to stay in AZ. Just listen to what Larry Foote has to say about him. Foote would know better than anyone.

It depends how much money he wants. If he thinks he's getting $5 or 6 mil a year, then yeah, they'll let him walk. But if he's willing to do a short deal for low money to 'bet on himself' or 'prove his worth', then I could see that happening.

Yeah. The more Flexible three Down ILB signed to play next to him only to be replaced by a SS and not starting a game. Witherspoon was signed as the three Down ILB to replaced Minter on 3rd Down and start next to him on 1st and 2nd. He barely Saw the field.

Well, there can't be a thread about The Ghost without me giving my thoughts.

In a league that is about versatility and playing in space, Minter is not versatile and does not play well in space. The fact that he has needed to develop his only skill is even more laughable. K9 is correct in that Minter is terrible blitzing and terrible in coverage. He is a target every snap he is on the field. He may have developed over these past 3 years, but he has developed into a servicable 2 down LB which is not saying much. It was a wasted draft pick in the sense that we could have gotten similar production with vet min player or a 4th or 5th round draft pick.

In fairness, I have the same issue with Minter as I did with Dan Williams. It isn't about if you can fill a single role well, it is about how much does it cost to pay you to fill a single role. Punter, kicker, long snapper, a blocking fullback, a NT only, and a run stuffing LB are role players and deserve to paid paid as such.
