Did you see the Dark Knight Rises prologe? It isn't here in CT, wondering what people who did see it thought of it.

good and bad... it was a pretty solid set piece to begin the movie, but the reviews are right... you can barely understand a word Bane is saying which took a little of the sting out of it.

It definitely got me excited for the movie though. saw a little more of Catwoman in costume, a little more of Bats... definitely my must see movie of the year in 2012.

oh yeah... also, if you can, go see MI4 in the IMAX format and not the fake IMAX format. The real deal, screen from floor to ceiling IMAX. The action set pieces were INSANE in that theater, especially the entire sequence in Dubai.

I agree with cheesebeef. Great action flick and worth the money to see it in the theater. Grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy the ride.

Excellent! Exactly what a Christmas/summer blockbuster should be! Worth every penny!

I watched it tonight and was a little disappointed. I was hoping that it would be quite a bit better than the first three MI movies but IMO it didn't really improve the franchise all that much. A lot of action but unfortunately, much of that action was really just chase scenes in disguise. Also, it was a bit unrealistic at times, something that JJ Abrams typically does but for some reason it bothered me more in this movie than usual. A decent movie with a fun cast and it definitely had some good moments (loved the start, for example) but it fell a little short of my expectations.

Do you remember MI2? Talk about contrived action sequences and lack of realism. It was directed by John Woo....enough said. I thought it was cool but watching any John Woo films requires suspension of belief at a high level. In fact for me it's the weakest of all the films IMO.

Mission Impossible since the days of the TV show has had a plethora of unrealistic scenarios, scenes and technology. Sort of comes with the franchise.

I know for me I wasn't sure what to expect and maybe that is why I was so impressed. I liked the first because if felt very nostalgic to the original show but this one might be my favorite or a real close second.

I liked it. It is the best in the franchise, IMO, even though the premise (stolen nuclear launch codes) is getting pretty tired.

I thought the movie was unnecessarily far-fetched and they should have shortened that useless chase scene (nothing is accomplished and nothing of importance is revealed) but I agree, it's the best in the franchise. As a matter of fact, it's the only one of the group that feels like it could support a franchise.

I liked the first one until it became clear who the bad guy was. I found that to be an unreasonable decision on their part and it took a lot of the fun out of the movie for me and just about every fan of my generation. The next two didn't work for me at all.

I don't mind the unrealistic scenarios or the unbelievable technology, it's an essential part of the landscape. But Ghost Protocol has a couple of things in it that were both unbelievable and unnecessary. It didn't ruin the movie for me but it took what could have been an all-time great action movie and turned it into a pretty good one.

Hey, a Josh Holloway sighting! I thought he was actually still stuck on an island, or at least his career was.

Ha, and yeah he should probably stick to tv.

Agreed, cast was great. Good writing too, they each had solid material to work with.

Excited for #5.

Talk about bringing a thread and movie back from the dead. Are you searching for these movies or just deciding to go back 3 years and pick on one to bump? :p

Haha, searched. I'm way behind working on several movie lists and just watched this one.

And it's always interesting to step back in time a bit and read what people thought of a film.
