RAPID CITY — Here's a recap of Friday games in the state Class AA boys basketball tournament at The Monument.
Mitchell 55, Sioux Falls Lincoln 51 — Two free throws apiece from Gavin Hinker and Colotn Smith in the final 36.8 seconds helped the defending champion and fourth-seeded Kernels knock off top-seeded Sioux Falls Lincoln.
Markus Talley paced Mitchell with 22 points. Hinker contributed 14 points and six rebounds and Smith 11 points and six assists.
Brody Schafer notched 18 points, Sam DeGroot 14 and Sam Ericsson 10 for Lincoln.
Brandon Valley 46, Harrisburg 31 — The second-seeded Lynx used big first (14-8 scoring run) and third (15-5 advantage) quarters to turn back second-seeded Harrisburg and return to the state championship game for a second-straight year.
Landon Dulaney's 14 points and 10 rebounds and Mach Mayen's 10 points sparked Brandon Valley.
Stellen Larson recorded 18 points and eight rebounds for Harrisburg.
Huron 49, Spearfish 35 — Blake Ellwein scored 16 points, Davis Chase 12 and Anderson Porisch 11 for the Tigers. Chase also hauled in 14 rebounds.
Sioux Falls Jefferson 68, O'Gorman 65 — Damaris Fields' two free throws with 17 seconds left ice the win for Jefferson, which got 16 points from Kuai Mayen, 14 points and nine rebounds from Mason Payne and 10 points from Colby Nuttbrock.
Nyun Dut's 19 points, Caleb Terveen's 17 and Austin Terveen's 11 topped O'Gorman.
Seventh Place (Spearfish vs. O'Gorman, 1 p.m. Central); consolation championship (Huron vs. Sioux Falls Jefferson, 2:45 p.m.); third place (Sioux Falls Lincoln vs. Harrisburg, 7 p.m.); and championship (Mitchell vs. Brandon Valley, 8:45 p.m.).
