here is something interesting, DC of the Titans Jerry Gray has applied for the HC opening at Texas Tech. He was a cb from his days at The University of Texas, and a was pro bowler in the NFL (sure some of you remember the guy). He is a 3-4 kind of guy but seem limited to run it this year with Tenn., lacking the personnel. He has been highly recommended during his coaching tenure from the likes of Gregg Williams to Joe Gibbs. I know he is not a college coach, but he played in the secondary like Horton did and their age I do not expect would be too far off. Just makes me say hmmm

hmmm I have a theory could it be Todd Grantham? Has some NFL exp and currently runs a 3-4 for a college team that has one of the best defenses in the country at Georgia. He is one of the few in college who run a 3-4

I like it.

Wow, how am I the first one to get this?

It's Derek Mason. Native Phoenician, NAU alum, purveyor of Stanford's 3-4 defense that shut down Oregon.

His only experience in the NFL is 2 years in Minn as the DB coach, he has done a great job at stanford plus he was hired by harbaugh....mind games. I like Grantham more but Mason isnt a bad guess you could be right.

Gray and Mason, both have been secondary coaches and follow in Horton's footsteps. Mason sounds very possible, especially with Horton at the game.

You dont think he was at the game because it was being played where the cardinals play and MB and staff are always at that game? I agree with you on coming from the same background stuff tho.

Lorenzo Ward, South Carolina DC? Good stats (especially takeaways). Coached for Art Shell in Oakland. Coached Clowney and others.

Jurecki says it's not Grantham.

Jurecki's reporting style is pretty funny. The guy always seems to try to leave himself an out by giving disclaimers and/or just teasing bits of diluted information. He's alright though.

seems to get info first more than any others, people hate on him but I turn to him to hear the latest, accurate news. He may miss occasionally I suppose but he seems to get stuff first, then somers.
