I was listen to MJ last night with his report from Flagstaff. He actually had a chance to talk with Q and asked him about the current rumors.

According to MJ Boldin told him he has no intention of walking out of training camp. He doesn't want to let his teammates down and feels that this offense could be very explosive and go 6-0 in the NFC West.

MJ also said this morning that 17 teams contacted the Cardinals requesting Boldin's service and several offered a 1st round pick for him. He had the list of teams that called but was only willing to confirm that the Cowboys were one of the 17 teams.

All I readlly want to hear about what he said.

Not surprised in the least.

Lito Shepard and a 3rd pick ridiculousness. At least some teams have an idea of the guys value.

If we did decide to trade him for a number one pick I bet it wont be to Dallas. We would pick a crappy team to get the higher first rounder.

MJ also said that the Cardinals most likely will not trade Boldin this year. They feel that Boldin is a necessary piece if they truly want to make a playoff run. MJ agreed that trading Boldin this year makes no sense as it will not help this team win today.

I hope this would give him time to realize that he enjoys his teammates and signs a contract that is fair for both sides. Meaning he isn't paid top 5 money, but isn't shafted either. Basically I hope he comes to his senses.

That was my thinking too. It wouldn't make a ton of sense to trade him for a first rounder right now, but if they waited until after the season, it might be a good fit. They'd get another good season out of Q and they'd still get the same return w/out hurting the team.

We need to keep him for this season for sure. Trade him in the off season if we can't reach a deal that he accepts.

Tht's all nice and well, but we are a few weeks away from game one, and when will he have another outburst? Just shut the hell up and play.

I think he said 6-0 in the Division. Still wonder what that means as we play each twice.

It was a typo on my part. We play the Rams, Niners and Hawks twice which would equate to 6-0 if we sweep all of them.

Have to wait until we see what we have with Breaston and Doucet first before we trade him.

If 17 teams called for Boldin before the draft that was the crappiest WR class maybe ever, then best case scenerio before the 2009 draft with better WR's then the 2008 draft we can probably still expect to here from half of those 17 teams again. A few again probably offering 1st rounders again, especially from Philly again who will have 2 1st rounders in the 2009 draft(their own and the Panthers) We have the luxury of waiting and seeing without any loss of trade value IMO.

If a lesser player like Deon Branch garnered a low first-rounder from Seattle, when New England was in much more dire straits to unload him, why wouldn't Anquan Boldin generate more?

But I really don't see a need to trade Q now or later. What is wrong with having two elite receivers and paying them both? Minnesota had Carter and Moss, the Rams had Bruce and Holt, and both had dynamic offenses. Go back to the most successful team of the 70s, the Steelers with John Stallworth and Lynn Swann. Supposedly this team is on the edge of the playoffs, not in rebuilding mode like the Chiefs and their trade of Allen.

The Cardinals have a potent passing attack with Boldin and Fitzgerald. Almost every announce crew that covered the Cardinals last year focused on them as them as the key strength of the team. When both are healthy, which didn't happen enough last season, the passing attack is lethal. Trading Boldin removes that strength, and allows opponents to concentrate on taking Fitz away from the offense. And with the relative impotence of the "ground attack", that puts even more pressure on the defense IMO.

No, according to MJ, 17 teams called this week to enquire about a trade for Boldin. They were offering 1st rounders for next year.

Man.... I just don't think we'll be able to keep him, especially since he's come out and said he belongs in the group with Randy Moss and TO - and that he's a top 5 reciever. It just isn't possible. We caved to Fitz cause he had us by the jewels. Boldin has no leverage other than flaming us in the media and threatening not to play. Which means he has basically no leverage what so ever. Sure our treatment is unfair, but business is ruthless in the real world.

Yup! There is a difference between fantasy football and reality. I wouldn't trade Anquan for former high first-rounders Rolle and Levi Brown. I would for Joe Thomas and Fitz.

The report that 17 teams inquired about Anquan should give pause to the people so anxious to trade him. When and if the Cardinals and Boldin get a contract extension done later this year or in the offseason, he'll return to being the Ray Lewis of the Cardinals IMO.

Its called getting something for a player you dont think you can re-sign. Or you can just get nothing.

Boldin has 3 years on his deal but I dont think people are being honest withthemselves if they think he wont cause an even bigger fuss next offseason, or as Boldin stated right out of his mouth when asked about his performance this season,"It will be hard for me to focus." The whole I will just play out my 3 year contract stuff is complete bunk. No way he waits until he is 30 to try and get a new deal. Either he gets a new deal or he gets traded next offseason without a doubt in my mind.

There is only one reason Boldin isn't going to walk out of camp and I just heard about it this morning. It's called the John Riggins rule. If Boldins walks out for more than 5 days after reporting to camp, he goes on the inactive list for the season. He doesn't get his money or his year of service to the team. In otherwords, no money and still is Cards property for 3 more seasons. He has to play at least this season here. Come next year before camp opens, he can hold out.

Only one of two things will happen. He gets a new deal or he is trade next offseason. Him playing all 3 years finishing off his contract will no happen.

Since IMO I dont think we will ever offer the 8 Mill per season, not while Wiz is here, I dont think giving him a new deal is an option either.
