I'm glad to see Alfred Manuel Martin at the top of the list.
(He's too much of an a$$hole to be called "Billy" -- sorry if there are any Alfred's out there.)
I am not a fan of the American League or the Yankees, but it's a shame that Martin and Whitey Ford turned a young, backwoods kid from Oklahoma (Mickey Mantle) into an alcoholic and shortened his life.
Billy Martin as Manager had his best record the first year, each time he joined a new team (including each of his three stints with Steinbrenner).
He declined in every single assignment, mainly because he wore out his pitching staff as soon as he took over.
He couldn't see the big picture.
Of course, another Yankee built a Managerial record of taking teams stocked with talent, but which won Championships only after he left. We were, of course, one of Buck Showalter's stops.
Perhaps if he weren't so busy micro-managing how their wear their socks. And, once again, capable of seeing the big picture.
Perhaps Bob Melvin will make the next list. Also incapable of seeing the big picture.
Chris Young dropped to 7th in the batting order. Breaks a huge hitless streak and is immediately moved to 2nd. Next day, back at 7th. Talk about screwing up a kid's head.
