That's that. Now the only moves left are really small ones barring a completely turnaround of Beal or KD wanting to be moved. That's all folks. After all of this hoopla the Suns basically are doing small tweaks and rolling with what we have.

New Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler has agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with the franchise through 2026-27, sources tell me and
@WindhorstESPN
. Butler is declining his 2025-26 player option for this new $121M deal.

This is what I was talking about. These guys will say only team X but when that team can’t pull it off they will go somewhere else verses stay where they are at.

Beal is owed just under $111 million over the next two years which is why the Suns were willing to trade Beal for Butler and extend him. It's only $10 million more.

Jimmy will be motivated, Jimmy will make the Warriors rise, Jimmy will prove all the doubters wrong.
I doubt the Suns far more than I doubt Butler's potential impact. If I were the Warriors, with a much beloved older player such as Curry, I'd pull out all the stops to try and win another title or two before he's no longer a force out there. Also, IMO, pre-trade, they were a little closer to championship level than we are so the right addition could well put them in the running. Not so for us, we'd have just been part of Butler's retirement plan.

Will it be Emo Jimmy or who will he be? Looking forward to playing them. Hopefully without Draymond triple single so our guys don't have to wear jock straps or whatever it is called, to protect their family jewles.

It’s not like Wiggins is a scrub. He was bad last year but he’s averaging nearly 18/5 on decent efficiency and he’s still 29. This won’t move the needle much so Lacob exercised his inner-Ishbia with this one.

The Suns deserve to be kicked in the nuts, literally. They've been figuratively doing that to themselves long enough.

Would love to know if Beal said no to a trade. Guessing we never had to ask once the Dubs gave Jimmy the bag.

It's early but I have to say I'm loving the Butler trade and I wasn't thrilled when it happened. I don't think we're going to win a title this year mind you but it has absolutely made a difference and if Kuminga comes back, sounds like a week or so he has to get in shape and the ankle has to hold up, I can see it panning out.

5-1 with Butler admittedly not a tough schedule. The primary thing is Butler fits the team perfectly, he's a far better defender than anybody else who played the 2 was, Wiggins was often guarding a 4 and then a 2 in the same game because nobody could stop 2's except Payton, now Butler fills that role. He's a much better passer than I realize, he is maybe the best screener on the team, and he rebounds. He has made the team tougher, they got smaller without Wiggins but got tougher.

And it gives a second closer.

But another key thing, maybe the key thing, is he draws so many fouls. Guys who draw fouls are huge because it ends up leading to FT's later in the quarter and Butler has done that.

The other thing is I don't think it's a coincidence Podz has started to play better, I think having Butler to help at Guard has taken some pressure of Podz and he's relaxed. Put Kuminga back in the lineup when he's right and more size and athleticism and another guy who might benefit from having a tough closer like Butler to take some pressure off him.

I still think the key to the season since they didn't get bigger is Buddy Hield. at the start of the year he was smoking hot and they were really good, then he fell of a cliff, into a ravine and kept falling. He's had a few decent games of late, if he can be even just reliable off the bench it makes a huge difference.

But they're just not big enough, Rookie Quinten Post has been nice, makes 3's, decent passer but not a good rebounder and very poor rim defender.
