In some ways yes and some ways no. This is an unprecedented situation where everyone is still in shock. Everyone is just hoping on a report that he is stable and then make any decision after that

ex Bill Coy Wire is on CNN talking about this. He played at Stanford and said in both his college and pro career he was on the field when a player got paralyzed. Neither situation seemed this touch and go to him, he thinks they should have already called the game. It was hard enough to keep playing after what happened in those situations but in a situation where it's even worse he said I can't imagine as a player going back on the field tonight.

It was a play with a hard hit but we have all seen hits that looked far more devastating. I keep thinking of Dale Earnhardt. The wreck looked not too bad but it was actually the worst.
