1.Car- Cam Newton: It was about this time last year when you started seeing Bradford at #1. Carolina's QB situation is arguably worse than the Cards.
2.Den- Marcel Dareus: they have the DE's they want in place. Dareus is the best interior DL prospect.
3.Buf- D'quan Bowers: Bills have alot of holes but they haven't had a pass ruch since Bruce Smith retired. Bowers gives them that potential.
4.Cin- Blaine Gabbert: their pick is going to be a QB. If Newton is here they may go with him. He's not and Gabbert gets the nod as Palmer's replacement.
5.Ari- Patrick Peterson: the best defensive player in the draft. A CB has never gone top 3, why start now. Punt returns and on FG defense you have DRC coming from 1 side and PP from the other. Lots of blocked kicks.
6.Cle- AJ Green: this pick and Cincy taking a QB are pretty much the locks of the draft.
7.SF- Von Miller: he gives them an outside pass rush that they had hoped for in Lawson.
8.Ten- Prince Amukamara: The Titans need a CB, their pass defense was terrible.
9.Dal- Cameron Jordan: Jerry Jones popped a blood vessel, not because of another facelift, but because Prince went 1 pick before the Cowboys. Jordan gives them a DE for the 3-4.
10.Was- Tyron Smith: not the splashy pick but makes the most sense.
11.Hou- Robert Quinn: The Texans can use a pass rush opposite Williams. Antonio Smith hasn't cut it.
12.Min- Nick Fairley: Minn can't believe he's still there and get their replacement at DT to team with Kevin Williams.
13.Det- Aldon Smith: Detroit keeps adding talent to the defensive front.
14.Stl.- Julio Jones: Bradford to Jones could become the number 1 pass combo a couple years down the road.
15.Mia- Mark Ingram: Brown and Williams are both free agents. Somebody needs to run the ball.
16.Jax- JJ Watt: He could give them a pass rushing presence. Derrick Harvey has done nothing for them.
17.NE- Ryan Kerrigan: The Pats are putting togther a good you LB crew in Cunningham, Mayo, Spikes, and now Kerrigan.
18.SD- Justin Houston: They get a possible replacement for Merriman. Larry English hasn't been all that great so a pass rush is still needed.
19.NYG- Anthony Costanzo: Coughlin goes back to his BC roots to grab the best OT in the draft.
20.TB- Adrian Clayborn: I think he may be the steal of the draft getting picked this late. He should start from day 1.
21.KC- Akeem Ayers: he didn't have a great combine but he's still a very talented player.
22.Ind- Gabe Carimi: Polian seems to always draft guys from the Big 10 and Carimi fills a need.
23.Phi- Derek Sherrod: He just looks liks a Philly OL. Justice's injury makes OT a priority.
24.NO- Stephen Paea: this was a tough one. I could see them going with local guy Drake Nevis, but Paea is a bigger run stuffer.
25.Sea- Jake Locker: Carrol knows Sarkisian well and they need a QB. Doesn't hurt that Locker is a local guy either.
26.Bal- Jimmy Smith: The Ravens have really fallen off at the CB position in the last couple years. Smith givs them size and speed ala McCallister.
27.Atl- Mike Pouncey: They may lose their entire right side of the OL. Pouncey, they hope, is as good as his brother.
28.NE- Cameron Heyward: I've always thought he reminded me of Richard Seymour. The Pats could use another Seymour-type DL.
29.Chi- Nate Solder: just like Sherrod fits in Philly, Solder seems like a Bears type OT.
30.NYJ- Phil Taylor: Jenkins is done and they need a NT. Taylor was dominant in the Senior Bowl.
31.Pit- Ben Ijalana: He fits the Steeler mode of OL and fills a major need for them.
32.GB- Mike Leshour: He's a pretty talented RB and GB is lacking in that department but they don't seem to have too many problems offensively. He could give them the ground game that was lost when Rayn Grant went down.

Cards picks:
38- Jabal Sheard,OLB: he's a good SOLB prospect in the Woodley mode.
69- Greg Romeus,DE: anothe Pitt Panther. He'll have to check out medically but he was a 1st round lock prior to his injury riddled year. Gives the Cards another guy for front 3.
102- Luke Stocker,TE: the Cards need a TE at some point. He's not flashy but will get the job done and is a decent blocker.
135- Stephen Schilling,OG: You can't go wrong drafting Michigan OL. Schilling will be a poor man's Hutchinson.
166- Orlando Franklin, OT: Another OL addition that has talent but needs to develop.
179- Roy Helu jr.,RB: I am willing him onto this team. Will be a great ST/role player.

The Cards fill their QB need by trading a future pick for either Palmer or Kolb and fill their ILB need by signing Stephen Tulloch.

No Liuget or Torrey SMith but it looks good to me.

Packers would go Smith/Baldwin/Hankerson becasue they only have 3 WRs under contract. I think we're pretty confident that Starks and Grant can handle the load.

You know that Houston's converting back to a 3-4, right? I think Antonio Smith can be a load as a one gap 3-4 de.

What is really great about all these mocks is that its shown me there are about 20 guys the Cards could take at #5 and get a really good football player.

Of course if you are one of those fans where money is more important than talent you won't agree.

Your 1st two picks are exactly the same ones as mine right now.

Although Sheard doesn't jump off the screen he might be the most technically sound of the 3-4 OLB conversion bunch.

My first three picks are Peterson, Sheard, and SILB - Sheppard

I like it...I posted those 3 picks in a different post. I also went with QB McElroy in the 4th.

While it is very difficult to predict trades the fact is that there will be trades. Name a draft that there were no trades in rd 1. To have a draft with no trades is far less realistic then some of the trade scenarios we have seen.

IMO Von Miller is our first pick. I think he will be our best first rounder in a very long time.

I don't want anyone elses point of view!!! Your's and mine are right on particularly the above. I am somewhat surprised those who are not Kolb fans don't realize how good he is going to be WITHOUT any "yes, buts." Those will be attached to just about every draft possibility or others available (by the way Hasselbeck is relatively clean compared to others)

Some folks need to realize that the brains behind the eagles success over the last 10 years or so really understand how to evaluate quarterbacks...they have proven that over a body of work...if Cards don't get him wait'll ya see how much he is going to go for.

Love the Peterson pick, but if I look at a guy like Horton, he always has had marginal corners. Its all about the Linebackers with Pitt and now our scheme. Saying that I see no way the Cardinals don't get the best pass rusher in the draft in Millerat #5, assuming he is there.

I see no Ryan Mallett in the first. I also see him dropping to 2nd round.

And if he does I say the Cards run up to the podium. A QB set up of Mallett, Skelton, and a Palmer, McNabb, or Hass would be ideal IMO.

Miller, Mallett, and Martez would be my ideal 1,2,3.

we are set like this..we have hall of fame player coaching offensive line and he likes to take average player because he thinks to be a great teacher and able to turn them to be great player even if they arent
we had an ex tigh end as head coach and he takes just marginal players at that position and just rarely involved in offensive schemes
now we have a ex cornerback coach and he doesnt like talents in that postion for his scheme..really strange

Solid mock draft, that makes sense for the most part. I can handle the majority of the picks, though I really don't care for Helu.

Wonder if they will allow as they do in baseball "a player to be named later" type deals...those can be real "wink-wink" trades.

I was wondering the same thing. I would expect the language to read, "future considerations" instead of player to be named later.

I'm pretty sure that the commish will be looking for these type of deals and teams involved will be punished.

Romeus is this years Schofield in that he'll probably wind up a much better player than his draft spot but everyone is concerned because he's coming off the injury.

I have a hunch they will be very specific on this and the more I think about it the more I believe we will not be hearing something like " there has been a trade..the Arizona Cardinals have traded their 2nd and 3rd round picks in 2012 to the Philadelphia Eagles for future consideration." ( I can only hope...can't I) It will be squashed.

Did he play standing up much? It has him listed as a DE on the Pitt roster.

I looked at perhaps 20 draft boards over the weekend. I estimate that 80% of them had us taking Von Miller. From all I am reading the best pure pass rusher is Bowers. He sounds like a real deal sure fire pick. Miller sounds great but I still worry some about his weight or lack of and arm length which is essential in being a good outside rusher. I want a QB but have sort of given up on that as everyone for the most part say no to a first round pick of a QB.
