Exactly. It is like writing on the wall that no one wants to read.

You aren't giving us enough credit. The Suns don't "need" another lumbering giant who can't play, either.

Heck, if they just want a big young European center, all they have to do is offer Jake Tsakalidis a four-year deal for whatever the #7 pick would make -- I highly doubt that Memphis would match.

True, I don't know whether Podkolzine can play or not. Maybe he can. But the undocumented testimony of some random Italian dude who hangs out with him doesn't impress me much.

What does impress me was that he made a big splash a year ago, got people excited for maybe a week, and then vanished as soon as the buzz died down. If he could really play, do you think that would have happened? And if he couldn't play a year ago, why can he suddenly play now?

To answer thegrahamcrackr's question about a tie in the voting, George O'Brien guessed right: I'll just hold off until someone votes late to break the tie.

exactly. Also, we began to remember that the draft isn't the only way to get help in the middle. In fact it's probably not a good way to get help in the middle if they want someone who is claimed to make a difference sooner than later. I still believe the Suns will take the best player available and work on the rest of their needs in free agency and through trades.

Those same reports that talk about Pavel's shooting and ballhandling skills also talk about how he has lost defensively. They talk about how in real game situations he is clueless. There are also serious worries about his health.

I really have no idea how the Phoenix Suns feel about this guy. If they take him I'll just assume that they know what they are doing the same way I would like any of these young guys and I really haven't seen. I chose Iguodala, but they could really go with about anyone here. It now the only thing we really have to go on is Gambo's report the other night... next in nothing.

Draft Martynas and trade him for a veteran center and lower first or early second pick.

I pick MA but he may opt out so Pavel would be my choice. I think he'd be a good gamble at #7 pick. Sure he's a project but he could have the biggest upside in the draft. If this gamble paid off we'd be contenders for a long time.

It's over!

The Suns select Andre Iguodala, by a count of 16 votes to 15.
