I dunno. My weird sense of humor I guess. I tend to type like I talk. If I crack a smile or chuckle or something while talking, I'll typically start with the "lol". I speak more bluntly than most too, so it's also a habit I picked up texting with girlfriends after they would get all defensive thinking I was mad or something

as for the positions to address. We have Brandon Keith's backup starting for us now. Keith was awful, so to thing that it is a glaring hole isn't exactly an incorrect assumption. And at WR, we had 3, 1k+ yard WRs when we went to the SB. Now we have 1, barely, and he's the best in the game. 1 of our receiving threat TEs is always hurt. I do agree that we should always be looking for upgrades regardless, but our weak spots are pretty glaring IMO. Realistically, none more than the guy taking snaps too....

Point of order. That is the only position that was noted as being a pressing need.

Other than RT and improved QB play what pressing needs do the Cardinals have?

true. I still think Roberts is awful and should have been replaced with Manningham. CB is also still a major concern. Hell, QB is our biggest concern

I agree on WR though I'd rather have had Manningham replace Doucet. At least Roberts could fill in as punt returner if Peterson couldn't go. Other than that there's not a lot of difference between Early and Aaron.

but Roberts couldn't catch a damn cold last season. I wouldn't want him even taking punts

Neither could Doucet. I went back and watched some highlights of games last season. Amazing how many times passes hit Doucet right in the numbers that he dropped.

A.J. Jenkins, Nick Toon, Marvin Jones, etal anyone????

What's the deal with Stephen Williams?

He showed so much promise as a rookie. (And you can't beat the size, speed and hands if he can bring it).

Did he regress? Or was he simply ignored in favor of Roberts and Doucet? More important - if given the chance, could he be our answer at #2 WR?

Preseason all pro. He didn't do anything once the games started counting.

He never had any hands. A receiver than can't catch is useless, I don't care what other measurables he has. He overperformed marginally in preseason for what you would expect from an undrafted Free Agent, and in fans minds became a prospect. Sort of like the backup QB syndrome - everybody's an allstar when they are sitting on the bench. It gives fans a great opportunity to question the coaching staff and make us feel important.

I hope we take a look at James Rodgers, WR, Oregon St. as an UDFA. Size limitations, but plays hard, quick, can return punts and kicks, and can contribute as a WR. Real tough kid who could develop to be a 4th, maybe 3rd WR option if he can stay healthy.

true. I wouldn't be comfortable with either fielding punts. Further illustrates the need for a real #2
We were pursuing Demetrius Bell, with barely enough space to get that one done.
They obviously could have done something. They were pursuing Peyton Manning for God's sake. He would cost more than Bell and Manningham combined

Add to that Demarco Sampson.

I think this is the earliest in the preseason that Williams has been brought up as a potential no. 2. ;)

That's pretty misleading - you are referring to "the earliest in 2 preseasons." Williams is listed on the Cardinal roster as being in his second year. (I'm assuming he is going into his 3rd year and the website hasn't updated it yet).

The first year, Williams was an UDFA that nobody heard of, so no one even considered him a #2 WR until after he wowed everyone during preseason. In Year 2 he was drowned out by a combination of (a) the logjam at WR dominated by Roberts and a returning Doucet and (b) not wowing anybody the way he did as a rookie.

It's not as if we're talking about a decade-long pattern here.

Doesn't play Special Teams. Unless he beats out the number 2 or 3 w/o there's no room for him on the game day roster.

Dominique Byrd. Onrea Jones. And who was that WR that was all world in the European League but couldn't even make all zipcode in Arizona?

Any McCullough? I did watch him dominate in the AFL for the Despeardos ;)
