Was an "OK" chick flick but not much more.

Some parts were entertaing but overall I say wait for video. By the way Kirstin Dunst sure can play a great BITCH!

I agree. Not as much of a ripoff of Dead Poets Society as I thought it'd be - it just wasn't a very well-developed movie. I went to see it mainly for Maggie Gyllenhall (sp). She may be smoking too much lately or something cause in this movie she had a horrible case of BJL going on around her mouth.

This movie sucked...the plot development sucked, the story sucked, and the ending sucked.

First off, the movie is supposed to be about her teaching, and after the first two classes, where she "wins" over the class, they don't show her in there again until the end when she has to give another speech.

Second, the big revelation to Julia Roberts towards the end is that maybe SHE'S the one who wants them to change, and not the girls themselves who want to change...so after this HUGE revelation to her...what do they do? NOTHING, they never resolve it, never show her dealing with it...

And then the end, they are chasing her on bikes??? WHY? Gag me, it was a horribly cheesy and poorly written movie...

Saw it on DVD this week - not horrible like Mike thinks, but it was ok.

The ending WAS cheesy. And how did those girls stay friends with Betty (Kristen Dunst) with all the mean things she did to everyone??

I just watched it. Totally agree with above. She really needed to be slapped a few times by her friends. When I saw the cast, I was really expecting something great. However, I was a little let down. If it would have been a bunch of unknowns, I think I would have enjoyed it more. I think the story was just a little too simple for this many powerful actresses.
