LJ - if the Cards are going to save 2 mill on him vs. Edge ...keep Edge...He's a leader, doesn't fumble, great in pass protection....please Edge vs. LJ - not even close.

T. Smith was a good fullback - rather have him

All these Steeler players is looking to close to Dennis Green's day's of running after Minn. players.

It's one thing one year removed from the player ... 2 years removed from a player who's now been cut...he's worthless.

We let him lave the building without even an ofer yet we do plan to give him an offer? This is why it takes so long for the FO to do anyhing, why not have the offer already prepared while the player is here. If you dont like the visit with the player you dont have to give it to him but at least have one prepared before they leave. Just very unproffessional.

does this really surprise you? Remember a few years back when Graves let a guy leave and said he had to wait to get the background check back on the player before they offered him a contract. I think the player signed elsewhere the next day. Common sense would say to get your ducks in order BEFORE you bring a guy in but it is RG we're talking about.

Must have not been all that interested in McFadden if they let him leave.

In one report it was indicated that the Steelers wanted the opportunity to match any contract offer he gets elsewhere. That's likely the reason why McFadden is waiting. If the Steelers match, he's all set. If not, he will either decide to accept the Cardinals' contract or go on other visits.

Lamont Jordan? Please. Say what you want about Edge but Jordan is quite a step down from Edge. I really don't want to hear about his 4.2 YPC. Remember this. If he had any value he'd still be a Patriot.

The team will make him commit right then if he finds the offer acceptable.

If he says he'll get back...they'll remove the offer. That's how it works now.

According to Urbans blog, McFadden doesnt have any more visits planned. We did give him an offer and he will think about it tonight. But we let him leave the building without having sign on the dotted line, which usually isnt a good sign. Hope thats not the case here.

Jordan really likes Lott from the Jets days and a reason why he came here for what he called an exploratory visit. What ever that means.

Kuhn is a RFA so the packers will be allowed to match an offer but Kuhn was given a low tender and we would not have to give up and draft picks for him because the Packers werent the team to draft him.

Edit I mispoke about McFadden getting offer. this is what he had to say in Somers blog. "“That’s what I’m hoping for. I haven’t received a proposal yet but from what I’ve heard, it should be coming later today. So hopefully it’s something that will be of great satisfaction for me. I’m just ready to get moving.”

The Cards have ALWAYS let the player leave before making an offer. Remember, it was Graves who made the notorious "24 hour cooling off" period statement about offering free agent contracts a few years ago.

I like this McFadden. I hope we get him.

Damn I hate Graves and Bidwill sometimes. I can't wait until this team no longer has those black clouds hanging over them and moves into the 21st century.

One step forward - two steps back. I can't STAND reading how teams like the Giants go get three guys that are going to help in one day and we can't even lock down one guy who wants to play here.

I know alot of people are going to be like "well we got to the SB this way" and "we never overspend" but this is BS. Good teams identify who they want and go get them. FA shouldn't be a cure all. But the teams that are consistently good know how to leverege it to get what they want.

The day it is Kiem and Mike in charge will be a glorious day for us all.

Well I can only hope.....

to me when an offer wasn't ready for mcf, we lost him. i've stated over and over, and been castigated by Tex, for ripping the FO, but this is why i do. hit while the kettle is HOT, not after it's cooled. you are out of your league, graves. if i'm wrong-right on! but im not!

I've heard of striking irons while they are hot, but I can't stand by while innocent cookware is being abused.
Don't make me break out the cape and do some good.

Un-(bad word)believable

The vists today by three free agents were mostly for the two sides to become acquainted. The club expects to talk contract terms today with the agents for running back LaMont Jordan and cornerback Bryant McFadden.

The Cardinals aren't looking at blockbuster deals for either one. If McFadden wants a deal worth $7 million or so a year, the Cardinals will be out of the market. Domonique Foxworth signed a four-year, $27 million contract with the Ravens that included a $16.5 million guarantee. The Cardinals don't want to pay that for a free agent corner. My guess is they are looking for someone in the $3 million to $4 million range in yearly average.

The Cardinals maintain interest in Packers fullback John Kuhn, a restricted free agent, but they are ging to try to figure out the market for Jordan and McFadden first.

After reading this I am just shaking my head. How can you let McFadden leave without ATLEAST a proposal.

What happened to the aggression of going after the guys we want? It looks like we are just sitting on our hands after getting to the SB.

IIRC T Smith was one of the few players who didn't participate in the offseason work outs. HHHHMMMM, maybe Whiz is sending another one of his messages.

I remember when we signed him as a free agent the team was disappointed that he came to camp out of shape. I think they want a fullback that contributes on special teams more too.

Bartell and another CB signed pretty good deals yesterday. The market has pretty much been set. If the Cards think they are going to get any FA corner for 3-4 million dollars, they are totally clueless. You have to pay market value. That's the way this league works. This is the time of year i can't stand the front office. McFadden won't be wearing a Cardinal unform next year. That's not even the bothersome part. It's the way the FO conducts business. They don't have to throw money around like Dan Snyder but ,at some point, you have to pay the players. They just got a ton of extra revenue from their SB run, and the new stadium is still producing plenty of income, but you'd be hard-pressed to tell any difference in the way the FO operates now compared to Sun Devil Stadium days when that stadium was blamed for everything. What are the excuses now?

All this was, was a meet and greet? This isnt a rookie coming in for a workout its a free agent. Thats is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Either the FO is clueless to market values, brought him in only for PR as in "See we tried", or Somers is guestimating.

What market value is their to figure out. Its already been set with Bartell and Foxworth. Even just above average CB's are going to cost you 7 mill.

I shouldnt be but I am actually astonished.:bang:
