Surprised that Vikings Oline was so bad. Niners D really lost a lot of players but looked good last night.

Disappointed in Teddy B. Thought he was ready to break out and do something. Under pressure most of the night, but still could have done better.

Why didn't AP get more touches?

I think we are better off not pulling the trigger on AP.
Disagree. Niners have always been stout against the run plus Minny's offensive game plan tonight was awful. Too early to make judgments regarding Bridgewater or anyone for that matter, but the sophomore jinx seems to be playing out. Tomorrow is Wednesday. Maybe we can still pull off that trade

I'm thinking the Niners aren't gonna be as bad as most thought & the Vikes aren't gonna be as good.

It's week 1, Vikings are wholly overrated. Niners are a pro team, so they can beat anyone at any time, do I see them winning more than 6/7 games? No.

He definitely looks a little faster than he did at OSU. It's kind of the same as it was with Leveon Bell. Hyde was a better runner than Bell in college but both have really improved their quickness in the NFL.

As I've said many times, he would've been an excellent steal for the Cards in round 2. Hyde was as good a RB I had seen in awhile his senior year at OSU. I was a huge Beanie fan but Hyde was better.

He's really good but it's also I suspect that the Vikes didn't know the 49ers were going to run that much zone read. The last 2 years the RB's have had to deal with teams stacking the box because they didn't think Kap could beat them from the pocket throwing the ball. This year they've gone a lot of 3 TE or zone read(or both) and the result is teams now have to honor Kap running on every snap and it takes away a defender. So even if they have 8 in the box, one of them is assigned to take Kap and that makes it easier to run.

If they keep doing it, teams will adjust. Plus, if Kap doesn't get smarter he won't last the year, that hit he took on the sideline was wicked, I don't care how tough he is you take a few hits like that you're going to pay later on.

Living here in mn it's kind of funny to see them flop in the prime time cuz I have bets w people at work on how Minnesota can do n all I tell them is there offensive line is horrible. They lost there right tackle so rookie tj clemming had to step in they lost there center for the time being both guards r questionable n there LT is awful. Teddy looked like he second coming of Lienart, couldn't throw the ball 50 yards on a Hail Mary, n there offensive coordinator was stupid giving the ball to ap 4 times on the ground in the first half. On the defense they have the best secondary on the nfc north, but that's not saying much. They're line backers are in question cuz bar came into camp out of shape greenway is old and there 2nd round pick kendricks couldn't beat out hodges for the ILB spot cuz he's "too soft" against the run. Idk if they will get better but don't look too hard into sf being good but as LIAC said they r a pro team.

Yep. Was hoping the Cards would take him also. One thing to remember regarding Minnisota's Oline is they lost their starting Tackle for the year and I think they also lost another starter on the also so they were banged up.

Both teams looked bad, the difference was the Niners had Hyde rolling, and the refs missed a ton of Niner penalties (while still calling a ton on both teams).

The Niners might not have won had that blatant PI been called and the ball placed at the 1, and conversely on Hyde's first TD run, when he reversed the field Boldin bear hugged the defender that could of stopped him (and the refs missed it). The game is completely different if those things are correctly called. Likely +7 for Vikings and -4 for 49ers, and then the horrible Vikings aren't pressing at the end.

Bridgewater was not seeing the open receivers all day long. He was air mailing passes left and right... but on the Hail Mary threw it about 20-25 yards short. He also was throwing short of the line on 4th down... expecting a guy to run a few more yards.

Their OL looks like a hot mess, letting guys run free all night long on the interior. They couldn't handle the edge rush.. even if it wasn't very fast. This obviously made Bridgewater's night even worse. Mental note: Pressure Bridgewater, he can't handle it.

AP didn't get much room, that he was getting positive yards at all is a testament to how much he still has left. Why they didn't get him more involved, especially with Bridgewater playing like crap and their pass blocking woes occurring is beyond me.

Their defense was getting shredded by Hyde. They couldn't tackle Kaep and he gained a few first downs and got absolutely blow'd up on one run. He still goes head first too often, and one of these times he's going to pay for it.

Both teams were committing a bunch of stupid penalties. Commentary was right when they said this was beginning of the preseason stuff. All those penalties and the refs missed a TON.

Vikings punted the ball, and it was respectably downed at a good spot, and the Vikings chose to re-kick and almost gave up a punt return for a TD (if not for penalties). But the penalties didn't seem to really effect the return since the punt came down quickly and Ellington took it to the sideline and not up the middle. So the Vikings horrible coaching decision got bailed out.

Kaep still looks like crap, but he's always been able to roll out and hit the short pass, and they did that all night long. Vikings D acted like they've never seen a stretch play. Just like the Vikings OL were letting Niners defenders free, the flip side was the Vikings D had huge gaping holes opened up to let Hyde run scot-free through. With a head of steam, good luck bringing Hyde down.

The early reports of Bowman having slowed down are incorrect.

The game was pretty horrible all around, but one bad team had to win. Yeah maybe these guys clean up some of this and improve, but both teams have a long ways to go to even sniff the playoffs.

Here's a interesting thought, the Seahawks are all alone at the bottom of the NFC west.

Trent Dilfer and Chris Berman are one of the worst crews I have ever had to listen to. I wanted to throw up throughout most of the broadcast!

Remember when we played them in SF I believe the year after the SB & we played late MNF, when Tolar fumbled the fumble that lead to our loss?

That night aftter halftime I pulled up the Sirius radio Cards feed & have at every game since!!! Worked out well :D

Hyde's last 5 yard run of the night cost a Draft King's Fantasy Team $1 million dollars, but it added $1 million to the guy that had Hyde. So the loser won $1 mill and winner won $2 mill. Million dollars changed hands in 3 seconds!

Has anyone seen this live blog from Australia on Jarryd Haynes first NFL game?

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/bl...ancisco-49ers-debut-against-minnesota-vikings

''Bridgewater starting to throw the hamburger, now. He gains several yards for his squadron with a pass to No44, Asiata. Then he’s sacked. And now it’s second and 16. Darryl Patterson takes a catch and is jumped upon by a huge man. There are flags. It’s an illegal substitution. There will be no illegal substituting in this referee’s National Football League, no sirree Bob Hoskins. Third down. The Vikings have 12 yards to go in a down. Something. It’s fourth and eight. What do they do? They run... and get sacked. Teddy’s collared. It’s all 49ers as Aaron Lynch gives poor Teddy nightmares. Sacked. Couldn’t tell you why it’s called that. But sacked he was, Teddy, sacked like a poor employee.''

Ha ha! - that is awesome, here is another one:

"Bridgewater goes deeeep ... and bad, the ball lobs into the nothingness of the end zone. And the Vikings will ... punt? No, a field goal. He’s 30-odd yards out ... and it’s good. The kicker’s like a little Hobbit! A tiny little man! He’s a jockey! Ha. Top stuff, Walshy."

I also liked this one.

"Top stuff from Fabulous Phil Dawson who nails a field goal and heads off for a well earned rest. Ha. Good luck to him. Forty years old, booting the pill between two big sticks for pretty good coin, better than working.''

I hope this guys does this every week. It's hilarious.

We'll have to see. I think the 9ers surprised them by coming out in those jumbo packages with multiple tight ends.

I think when you play them you are going to have to be able to handle those packages and stop the run. If you can force them to go away from those it might be a different story. I don't really know if they have the receivers to play a different type of game.

I think division teams will give the 9ers way more trouble than other teams because the NFC west teams are built to stop the run. They have to be in this division if they want any success at all.
