Was so wrong on Herbert and Allen.
I mean, being wrong on Allen makes a ton of sense. The kid completed like 52% of his passes his last season at Wyoming. It's exceedingly rare that a quarterback improves as much as Allen has. Remember the rumors were that Keim wanted Allen badly.

Herbert I was lukewarm on because for every big time throw, you'd see a lot of meh plays. He also played in an offense that threw a ton of short passes. And just like Murray, people questioned his mental make up. But he had more potential than Allen because issues are harder to fix.

Both are great players, but I'm still happy we've got K1. I saw a bunch of plays last night where pressure affected Herbert where I think Murray would have escaped the rush. I don't see Herbert make plays that Murray doesn't, though I think he is overall better from the pocket.

Raiders paid for one stadium and got two home stadiums.

That is incredible!
If it was the Rams, it still would have been 60-70% Raiders.

Most Angelenos I know are still Raiders fans and most of them swear they will never adopt the Rams or Chargers.

Henry Ruggs is finally starting to pop for the Raiders. he's not polished at all but he's making an impact in games he's just so fast he outruns coverages.

I mean another Duck, Mariota, was good for 4 years in Tenn too, and I considered him a much better prospect then Herbert. I think it’s more wait and see.

Herbert is very bright…. 4.0 student and super high Wonderlic (doesn’t prove intelligence but quick thinking). I remember seeing him struggle with decision making at Oregon and thinking he’d need to be very smart to translate into the NFL. Turns out he did.

Miami is getting some blowback but that’s some serious hindsighting. Maybe they should’ve had a better read on Tua’s body but he was the runaway #1 pick heading into his third year.

I think that teams often over value QBs who played at big schools surrounded by a ton of talent.

Granted, Oregon does have a lot of talent, but Oregon is nowhere close to the talent level that Alabama has. Tua was playing with probably no less than 10 1st or second round picks and that might be a conservative estimate.

Mariota was never anything near as good as Herbert’s been so far in his first two seasons.

Herbert threw for over 4000 yards, 31 TDs and only 10 picks last year. This year he’s smoking everyone. Mariota was a good caretaker of the offense his rookie year and a solid QB in year 2. Not a good comparison.

Herbert looks like a future All Pro. His ceiling is best QB in Chargers history. He has a higher ceiling than Rivers ever has.

Mariota is a backup with the Raiders...yeah bad comp.

Nah. 20 games and you see Herbert is more closer to Mahomes than Mariota.

This is the best part of the deal. Raiders paid for a cheaper version of the stadium in Vegas and got a $5 billion dollar home field advantage staidum for FREE in LA!
