Monday Ten Thoughts: Advice for Beating the Falcons

Is Tony Gonzalez the top ranked tight end for this week? Talk about critical to the game plan, we have to stop this guy. If Bell or Dansby lines up on him, I think he goes for 100+ yards and 1-2 TDs.

The NFL is going to have to come up with a new position that can guard these huge tight ends. Lots of tight ends at 6'5" and up now. Colleges are recruiting mobile OT's and converting them to TE. I don't think we can expect a DB to cover a guy almost a foot taller, especially in the red zone. Lots of teams having trouble guarding big TE's. Jimmy Graham, Gronkowski, and Julius Thomas are some of the most difficult players to guard in all of football, not just the TE position. And with colleges pushing for these type of players, we are likely looking at a trend that will increase in the future.

FYI everybody - Jackson is listed as a possibility to play Sunday.This could make it necessary for Bowles to change his approach to containing Gonzo, Rodgers etc. etc.
