It's a typical Wes Anderson film: quirky and layered. Personally, I loved it. But, because it's pure Anderson, many will hate it.

The three of us just were delighted by this film, liked it enormously.

Bruce Willis and Bill Murray get praised by critics, but Edward Norton is simply wonderful as the dedicated but hapless scout leader, and the kids are all right on target. The movie is wry, self-amused, gentle and playful -- winsome. Really, it's like something from a slightly different era, it has such a light touch.

It reminded my friends and me of our childhoods, when kids still played outdoors and ran wild through the woods or fields or weekend construction sites, playing out long-running fantasy games (without constant parental electronic presence).

I thought his scenes were hit or miss. It's tough to be as dry as Anderson's visions demand. If it's not done right it comes off as really in-authentic. Don't get me wrong--I think Norton is a fantastic actor, one of the best of the generation. But some of his early scenes struck me as just a little off the mark.

Murray, n the other hand, is made for Wes Anderson (that's not a response to anything you said; it's just an observation. :)

Actually, now that I think about it, you're right. He did seem to overplay a little early on, but I thought once he declared himself a scout leader first, 8th grade math teacher second, it was like he relaxed.

Bill Murray is one of my very favorite actors - he's perfect for almost anything.

easily my least favorite Wes Anderson movie and made me feel like he might be a pedophile watching it.

This was fantastic. A few huge laughs from me, a lot of good laughs, and a great story with terrific acting.

Agree! Just saw this. Fantastic movie. Not as good as Dharjeeling Limited. :)

Yeah, if you subtracted the pedophilia scene this movie would have been a lot better.

But I agree with Stout, Darjeeling stunk, Anderson's worst movie by a mile.

Neat film.

I thought Norton's performance was the best thing about the film.

Good movie

my wife put this on last night. I had never heard of it and probably would have never turned it on myself. It turned out to be a very good, very enjoyable movie with a lot of big name actors. I am a big fan of willis, murray and norton but honestly, I thought the kids stole the show.
