Check this out from the Padres board. They are in for a rude awakening.

I agree with this line of thinking.

And hasn't Arizona been a pretty well-run franchise the past 4 years? They have an excellent farm system. Most of their players are homegrown. And they don't have that many stupid contracts.

Somehow this makes me think Kendricks remains our biggest and continuing problem.

Per AZ Republic Derrick Hall will replace Moorad. MLB required Moorad to re-sign yesterday as the article stated Moorad has a deal in principle to buy the Padres with a small group of investors.

Well, he's leaving the franchise in a better condition than it was when he walked in. I suppose that counts for something.
And hasn't Arizona been a pretty well-run franchise the past 4 years? Yeah, for the most part.

They have an excellent farm system. Not really anymore, but that's what happens when you promote so many guys.

Most of their players are homegrown. Yeah.

And they don't have that many stupid contracts. The Byrnes contract is obviously no good, but considering that we're in the same division as Andruw Jones, Jason Schmidt and Barry Zito, things could be worse. Way worse.

How much of the above can be attributed to Moorad? Probably not a ton, but I guess we'll never really know for certain.
